Paris Hilton and her mother Kathy will be grand marshalls of the Los Angeles Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual & Transgender Pride Parade, expected to draw tens-of-thousands of celebrants this Sunday in West Hollywood.

I don't think that many people with Republican views would be grand marshalls of a parade of that nature. Can we lay off Paris now? :P

12. This is great -- here's why

I saw Paris, or her sister, on David Letterman. They've both been on within the last few months.

I think it was the sister, Nicky. Letterman tried to draw her into a conversation about politics, and she said, haughtily, "My mother told me there are two subjects you don't discuss. Money and politics."

So, she is rich enough to be oblivious to what is happening around her. Her obliviousness is a status marker. She doesn't give a Chanel-scented crap about what happens to anyone else who isn't rich enough to be oblivious.

Therefore, Ms. Slaughter was right on target.
