"Keeping him honest" ??? Very tacky. No wonder Moore got pissed.

Notice that in the interview with the Deloitte Health-Care Analyst guy, the 'analyst' says almost nothing, really, nothing anyone doesn't know and that wasn't addressed in 'Sicko.' People buy health care outside of the system in these other countries. Good. So what? These systems are paid for by taxes. We know! It says so in the movie. Jeez...!

By the way, about Deloitte, from their website:

http://www.deloitte.com/dtt/section_home/0,1041,sid%253...

Deloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, its member firms, and their respective subsidiaries and affiliates. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu is an organization of member firms around the world devoted to excellence in providing professional services and advice, focused on client service through a global strategy executed locally in nearly 140 countries. With access to the deep intellectual capital of approximately 150,000 people worldwide, Deloitte delivers services in four professional areas — audit, tax, consulting, and financial advisory services — and serves more than 80 percent of the world’s largest companies, as well as large national enterprises, public institutions, locally important clients, and successful, fast-growing global growth companies. Services are not provided by the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Verein, and, for regulatory and other reasons, certain member firms do not provide services in all four professional areas.

1. Michael Moore was correct, it was an attack piece designed to
...immediately position viewers into a negative frame of mind as Wolfie Spritzer launched his neocon tiraid at Moore's live appearence. It failed because Moore came right back at the bastard and exposed Wolf. I hope Michael told Wolf after the end of the live interview to go to hell and left the set.

Actually I use to like watching him. I didn't realize he misquoted the movie as if he had never seen it and was such a radical right-wing tool.

5. He's not really a right wing tool.
He just plays on on TV for big money. OK, he's a fucking whore, willing to bend over for the right price.

11. Radical right-wing tool?
Didn't they lead off the segment by saying that the U.S. is 37th according to the WHO behind 1. France, 2. Italy, and 7. Spain? Didn't they end the segment by saying that the system needs to be a lot better? It seems to me that there were plenty of bones thrown to the left and the right. When you use the word radical so freely it really diminishes the usefulness of the word. It's like when Republicans call Hilary Clinton a communist.

and ended somewhat right. Just enough "truth" to salt the piece.

But between the two were lie after lie after lie after spin after spin after spin.

It's SHIT like this hit piece that may deprive us again of our chance at joining the CIVILIZED world and providing Universal, Affordable, Single-payer health care...

4. If Michael Moore's "Sicko" is so out of line why did they go
to the trouble of bringing in Doctor Sanjay Gupta and a Deloitte Health-Care Analyst to talk about the authenticity of the documentary?

Doesn't take much thinking to figure out what they were up too, does it? Keeping the working class in the dark is what big corporations are all about, as for the poor, well you can almost guess why most of them are in prisons today.

7. You got that right, plus...
Sanjay belongs to one of the most powerful unions in the country, the AMA. I haven't heard too many doctors complain about how lousy our medical system is, especially when they collect from the insurance companies without any words of protest over the thousands of dollars per hour they charge. Talk about racketeering!

8. You got that wrong
You know, I really get pissed off hearing people bitch about what doctors charge.CEO's who do not deal with life and death matters, make $200 Million a year plus. Give me a break, if you want good doctors, if you want the best and brightest of our nation dealing with life and death matters, then you should be prepared to compensate them for taking 8 years of their adult lives to learn medicine, and often taking out well over a hundred thousand dollars in student loans.Also.... UNIONS ARE A GOOD THING. Those who bitch about unions usually aren't in one

10. Why do you think that?
All the doctors I have seen over the last decade or so had full waiting rooms and worked very long hours. They have the responsibility of making life and death decisions and many of them have to pay astronomical malpractice insurance rates. I agree with Michael Moore--our health care system is a disgrace, but it is not the fault of doctors.

12. I agree
This blame the doctors meme is a bit tiresome. I don't know why anyone would interject it. Doctors do not limit access and nor do even their salaries account for the absurd overcharges that occur when we mix corporate medicine, corporate pharmacuitical companies, and corporate health insurance.

The insurance lobby and the HMO's want to adjsut the picture so that we look at this as patients vs doctors. For them the equation becomes a win win. Either they win and Moore and those calling for reform are against good hardworking doctors. Or they win and capitulate forcing those greedy doctors to work longer hours with fewer benefits and pocket the savings.

Target the corporates.

18. Some FACTS
"All the doctors I have seen over the last decade or so had full waiting rooms and worked very long hours"

That's because the AMA has for decades had a policy of limiting access to the field. Another factor is the selfishness of the United States that requires folks to run up those huge debts to become a doctor.

In civilized countries, education is either highly subsidized or free so they can produce more and better doctors.

"many of them have to pay astronomical malpractice insurance rates"

Thank the for-profit insurance companies and the AMA for this one too...

"our health care system is a disgrace, but it is not the fault of doctors."

Not the fault of most of them...but the AMA is guilty of blocking our access to health care. Michael never said it was the "fault of doctors", he pinned part of the guilt on the AMA and their stooge ronny ray-gun...

13. "We are the nation's physicians
Yes, we give aid to our lobbies everyday,
We will find against disease when the money comes with ease
And when we get together we say:

Hooray for the AMA
And for us doctors, let's have higher pay.
If you can't afford my bill
Don't you tell me that your ill,
'Cause that's the free enterprise way."

From "The AMA Song", written about 45 years ago by that prophet masquerading as a folk singer, Phil Ochs.

I fear it will be even more relevant in another 45.

14. Sanjaya becoming cnn spin doctor
The piece was designed to throw enough bogus remarks about fudging of facts to discredit MM...and in blowhard Blitzers piece before MM's piece, he fell on the lazy ole crooked journalist trick of saying some say...some say this some say that...just so much blowhard gossip malarkey....I'll keep my money on MM for the facts and have learned not to trust anything the self proclaimed MSM says.

15. Did anyone else notice this...
You see the list of WHO rankings in the movie, the trailer, and the clip from the movie that was shown in CNN's "report". Yet in both the movie and the trailer Cuba is clearly visible at number 39, in the CNN report Cuba is cut off at the bottom of the screen so the viewer cannot see it. Just a few seconds later however Gupta implies to us that Moore never told us Cuba's ranking was below the US. Could they be any more blatant in their propaganda?
