8. Everything said here is familiar and well known to thinking Americans. |
|
It seems that nothing will start the impeachment proceedings, just like nothing could stop the right wing nuts when they went after Clinton.
58% of Americans (including me) want to see Cheney impeached immediately. and yet we are told the very idea is "off the table" and that nothing can or will be done to stop these crooks. Why? I truly don't get it.
OK, what if 65% wanted Cheney impeached? What about 80%? Or 95%? Is there some "magic number" representing overwhelming public opinion that will get our representatives moving on this?
It reminds me of the Iraq War. A huge majority of Americans as well as a huge majority of Iraqis want us out. But both governments want us to stay, so we stay forever. These are democracies? In what sense? The wishes of the people are completely ignored. I thought that was called a dictatorship.

12. Can we flood Speaker Pelosi's phone lines |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 09:44 AM by groovedaddy
with calls for impeachment? Tons of letters and emails? Can we get a few million of the 58% who want to see Cheney impeached, to go to washington d.c. and SHUT THE FUCKING PLACE DOWN until they impeach these s.o.b.s!!! Why do so many politicians act as though this administration is anything but criminal? Clearly, the polls don't matter. What else will get their attention? I'm open to suggestions.

...that I can think of why Pelosi and the others would rather continue this water-torture of investigations rather than to move forward with Impeachment is that if we were to put these bastards on trial before the Country a couple of things could happen that might work against us. One, that they could actually come across as sympathetic characters in this tragedy. And the other is that the Repugs might actually get somebody in there that shows some degree of moderation in their approach to running the country. Whereas, if we keep exposing all the crap - sorta like turning over a compost pile every couple of days - along with giving them continued opportunity to thumb their noses at an ever-increasing majority of the American people, that by the time Nov 08 gets here not a single Republican would gain re-election, and just how wonderful would that be?

15. You can see through this. What makes you think that the rest of us wont? |
|
The number of Americans are ever increasing that this is an absolute sham. Take the worst case scenario and a moderate somehow gets in, who wont question how that came to be? Our sense of calmness is erroding by the moment with this nonsense. Health care alone, Global Warming, the entire election process - from raising funds to voting machines. Don't you think it's about time we fought back? If I have to put up with anymore Ann Coulter hour long interviews... We have been taking this garbage for a long time we should dig up the 9-11 disaster and all the rest. Let's keep exposing them for what they are. And not allow them to scare us into silence because believe me that's what they want.

16. But, every time george gets in front of a camera, |
|
looking wild eyed and crazy, squinching his eyes and making the same pitiful speech he has given for over 6 years, the humiliation crawls all over me. The entire world must wonder what happened to America. Has our govt. been bought and paid for? Has our country gotten so lazy that we just ignore when an idiot and his loony buddies are ruining our government and military. And attempting to declare war on the whole Middle East? This is serious stuff....

18. In his response to Ms. Thomas, he told at least four lies |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 04:21 PM by Jack Rabbit
He said that he he wanted a diplomatic solution to the crisis as opposed to war. He said Saddam "chose the course" or war. He characterized the war as "necessary." He characterized Iraq as a "young democracy."
(Oops, wrong thread).
Well, let's go for impeachment. Hear, hear!!
