1. Well now, there's a surprise. One Faux News host praising another.
So very predictable.

2. The fact of it is, it's not Huckabee's fault
as any governor would, he relied on information given to him by people he trusted. Wasn't it even the prosecutor that recommended letting the guy out? That's pretty compelling coming from someone who is supposed to know all the bad things about someone. It's not like a governor interviews someone personally before he takes such action. Nor is a governor clairvoyant.

3. Willie Horton changed that forever
Now, Governors are just as responsible for their signature on a commutation than anyone else.

Unless we forget Willie Horton.

12. Actually Lee Atwater changed it.
Willie Horton was granted "furlough" under a program signed into law by Republican Governor Francis W. Sargent. Dukakis just happened to be governor when Horton was released. But thanks to Atwater, everyone remembers Dukakis when they talk about Willie Horton.

16. I think that this demonstrates it perfectly
You have one conversation where both a "his friends" and others do basically the exact same thing. You can see how he bends over as far as he can imaginably do to make sure that Huckabee knows that it's okay to reduce the criminals sentence to parole and to console huckabee about his mistake. He did everything short of getting up and giving Huckabee a hug and whispering "It's okay, Huck" softly into his ear. In the exact same conversation, he speaks of the judges that do the exact same thing and makes sure that those judges know that they will be held accountable for their clear and obvious mistake.

5. Bill O'Reilly should ask his boss Roger Ailes
about Willie Horton. That indeed changed everything.

11. Actually the prosecutors were 100% in opposition!
Yes, Huckabee is at fault because this is not the first one of his mistakes that caused great harm to society! Huckabee went on some kind of religious foregiveness thingy releasing more prisoners than the previous two governors combined! So, yes it is Huckabee's fault! No excuses!

It might even come down to Huckabee releasing folks who claimed to have found Jesus in prison...We will see?

13. But he made the last decision just like Obama is going to make
the last decision about the Afghan war. He is taking all the suggestions in and make his OWN DECISION, JUST LIKE HUCKABEE DID IN NOT ONE BUT TWO CASES. And both cases ended up with the man he released killing people.

15. With that type of thinking why does fox news blame everything on Obama
When it may be congress's fault. If fox news can make broad generalization's then so can we.

20. Actually the prosecutors strongly opposed giving him clemency.
Huckabee went against their recommendation. At least one judge, however, was in favor of it. I've also read that letters Clemmons sent to Huckabee may have influenced his decision.

8. Straight up lie from Huckabee
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1109/Another_Huckabee_pardon_gone_awry.html?showall

Huckabee granted Clemmons clemency -- which required the parole board to approve his release -- rather than a straight-up pardon

Billo would be spinning this the opposite direction.

24. Blame Clinton? Are you kidding me?
This is CLEARLY Obama's fault! Give Bill-O the Clown a day or two to cook up a convoluted connection to Chicago politics. I'm certain that his people are working on it as we type.

When all of the facts are in, Hucky is gonna get burnt down over the release of Maurice Clemmons plus the release of Wayne DuMond, a man who later raped and murdered one woman is is suspected of committing a second rape and murder - this after being convicted of rape in Arkansas and being sentenced to jail. Ol' Hucky-boy released DuMond by lobbying the parole board heavily. Instead of releasing DuMond and Clemmons directly, he gets it done through the parole board so he can point the finger at somebody else when the shit hits the fan. Well, the shit has hit the fan and everybody can see that Mike Huckabee is the source of the shit. No amount of CYA is going to shield this guy from being rightfully seen as the man who freed the murderers.

Compassion is laudable. Foolhardiness invites derision. Huck is fucked.

23. "It's not your fault" is the IOKIYAR line
It's safe to say that Billo would have gone ballistic on a Democratic governor if that were the case.

I'll give Huckabee credit for taking responsibility, as he should. I never want to see Hackabee as president, but I would want him on my side in a fight. That's a lot more than I'll say for O'Reilly.

As for the judges, they have to deal in legal facts and probably are well advised to say nothing to the press, let alone to right wing propagandists posing as members of the press.
