Lincoln was a criminal who should have said war is good for nothing and just let the South go in peace after the attack on Fort Sumter.
We should have sent flowers to the Japanese after their attack on Pearl Harbor with notes that said war is evil and we will simply not comply with your aggression. War is good for nothing.

I spent 20 years in the military. Since you feel a right to call names, and ask when I will choose to serve my country, you should try it yourself.
Try becoming informed rather than displaying your ignorance for all to see. And, please, continue to ignore the rules about personal attacks.

those of us who served know that war is anything but "pretty", but can occasionally be necessary. While I believe that the current conflicts we are engaged in are misguided and brought to us by some seriously flawed people, (bush/cheney/et al), I cannot see you being a "warmonger".

War isn't a simple thing, and history is complex. It is too easy to distill things down to a motto and let the motto be a philosophy.
War, like all human endeavors, is a mixed bag.

There is no "good" war, but there are necessary wars. I hope someday things can be worked out w/o war, but until that day, we are kind of stuck in the cycle.
Sun Tzu knew about war, and his advice was to avoid it, and if it must be, make sure you can win.
