4. Ms. Maddow thinks she knows more than the Prez |
|
She doesn't. I support Pres. O's handling of the Afghan mess thus far and look forward to him drawing down troops in 2011.

6. Get ready for Obama the dumbass |
|
McGeorge Bundy, Robert McNamara, they were some Harvard geniuses too, and Obama is traveling in their footsteps.

8. There will be no drawdown in 2011 |
|
Thinking that all problems will be solved in 18 months and we'll then just pack up and leave demonstrates a significant ignorance regarding the history of Afghanistan. Do you really think that we're going to succeed where everyone else has failed going back to Alexander the Great?

9. well, I would hope you are right - but I sincerely don't think so |
|
that last thing in the world I would want is for the Obama Administration to stumble into a catastrophic blunder.
I still hold the President in high regard and feel that in many ways he remains the best hope this world has for defusing some of the most insolvable tensions.
Unfortunately, as Mr. Rather points out the on-the-ground realities of what Afghanistan is really like make success appear to me to be highly, highly improbable.
