Jake Plummer on Pat Tillman's death and the mistreatment of his family |
|
This is older, however it's even more pertinent in the light that the WH just claimed Executive Privelege over the Tillman documents.

2. That's a great piece - I remembering seeing it live - |
|
Yeah, I'm a Broncos fan, and I really liked Jake when he was playing for Denver. But, that piece took it to a whole new level. I have a lot of respect for him.
This administration refuses to answer to anyone - they just don't give a shit who they hurt, and how much dishonor they bring on this once "great" country. They just don't care. It's good that Plummer spoke out like he did - he was dead on in this great interview.
Executive privilege in the death (maybe murder?) of a corporal? Pat Tillman enlisted because he was a patriot and because he believed in the "myth" of America. He's dead, because those that lead this country didn't give a flying fuck about him. And they don't give a fuck about us either.
Nice country we have here, huh?

3. it's the few people like Bush that ruin it for all of us |
|
It's like that video posted the other day here that showed RW nutbags shouting down the Hindu priest who was saying the Senate blessing. What a shame that was. It was embarrassing.
Jake is a helluva guy for doing this. I always liked him but I really respect him as a man for sticking his neck out like this.

4. Executive Privilege for Tillman's death? Was Bush involved in Tillman's death? |
|

They are admitting it by claiming this. Did he order a hit when he heard Tillman was pro-Kerry?

7. Oh yes, but they won't bother his base, such as what's left of it. Tillman OTOH... |
|
How are they going to steal another one without even a token base?

5. I still remember seeing him playing in the 1997 Sun Bowl against my alma mater... |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-14-07 12:04 PM by calipendence
... when I was dubbing off old bowl game tapes onto DVD not long ago. Seeing Tillman highlighted and helping ASU kick my alma mater's (Iowa's) butt and almost shut them out unceremoniously at the time probably had me hating him then in a typical college sports fan partisan fashion.
But I look at how he played that game with such great energy, and each story I hear about him since that time reminds of what a true MAN and HUMAN BEING this guy was and how he stood for everything that was right and was screwed in the process. If I find any good celebratory moments, have some time later, and some are interested, perhaps I'll youtube smoe clips of that game later.
It also serves to remind me that that the life we live in today is more than just a football game, where we don't care about the other guys and just want to "run up the score" and win in a partisan (nationalistic) way. It's probably one of the few DVDs of games that Iowa lost in an embarassing fashion, which I'll be proud to keep and watch periodically to remind me of this fact!
Kudos to you Pat Tillman and family! And kudos to Jake the Snake for sticking up for them too!
