MSNBC Countdown w/ KEITH OLBERMANN - 1 December 2009: Dick Cheney, sounding more Darth Vader-like than ever, and who has never been held accountable for his war crimes and lies against the security of the United States, a day before a major policy speech by Obama, gives an interview in which he accuses Obama, in legalese, of treason.

CHENEY: "I think it's likely to give encouragement, aid and comfort to the enemy."

Retired U.S. Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson is interviewed.

WILKERSON: "This is incredible, that an administration that took its eye off, as early as Nov. 2001, Afghanistan, turned it into an economy of Ford's Theatre, told Gen. Franks to concentrate on planning for Iraq, and then began shifting troops and other assets that were husbanded, at best, already, towards Iraq, would now be accusing a President who inherited the mess they created, of malfeasance in office. This is laughable, Keith."

- snip -

OLBERMANN: "... Do you have a sense of what Mr. Cheney thinks makes America great and particularly free, I mean, is this just sort of knee-jerk nationalism, or does he even still get what America means, and that the ideas of torture and freedom are pretty much mutually exclusive?"

WILKERSON: "Well, you've hit the heart of the matter here. The power that we wield that is most formidable is the power of our ideas and our ideals lived up to on a day-to-day basis. No one in a long time has done a better job of restoring those ideals and restoring what they mean, rhetorically, at least, then President Obama. I'm waiting for him. I'm waiting on tenter hooks, for him to put action behind those words, and I'm giving him every benefit of the doubt that he will eventually do that. But I will not brook any opposition from the man who did more to damage those ideals than anyone in our history - Dick Cheney."

14. Use the post body to complete your thought.
Creating a new post for every sentence is stupid and annoying. Someone with your amount of posts should know better. Then again... you wouldn't have near as many posts otherwise. You are being a nuisance everything you go into a thread and do this.

9. Wilkerson:
In an interview that aired on the PBS news magazine NOW on PBS in Spring 2006 Wilkerson claimed that the speech Powell made before the United Nations on February 5, 2003, laying out a case for war with Iraq, included falsehoods of which Powell had never been made aware. He said, "My participation in that presentation at the UN constitutes the lowest point in my professional life. I participated in a hoax on the American people, the international community and the United Nations Security Council." - from wikipedia.org

16. But he was wearing a FLAG PIN!
How can you be unpatriotic when you wear a flag pin? Personally, I wear nine of them to show that I'm nine times as patriotic as Dick Cheney. But not ten! 'Cause I'm not THAT patriotic.

18. No, but the guy he shot did apologize.
I kid you not. You can look it up. Never mind, I'll do it for you. From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Cheney_shooting_incident

At a press conference he (Harry Whittington, the victim) said: "My family and I are deeply sorry for everything Vice President Cheney and his family have had to deal with. We hope that he will continue to come to Texas and seek the relaxation that he deserves."

The article also mentions that "Whittington suffered a minor heart attack and atrial fibrillation due to the shot pellets lodged in or near his heart."

19. Wilkerson
He's the last of a rare breed: an honest and intelligent Republican! He's a very honorable man and is a beacon of hope in the morass our leadership has become.
