5. This is a sketch from NDR.
The Norddeutsche Rundfunk has an excellent investigative journalism programme called "Panorama". At the end of the show they often present a very sarcastic political piece, similar to what SNL does, except they are much more intense than SNL could ever dream of being. For instance, in 1994 they brought a piece suggesting that the then Finance Minister, Theo Waigel, was manipulating the state-run lottery, in order to steal the proceeds so as to pay for the rising costs of the German reunification. Death threats followed that little jab and they had to publicly declare that the entire thing was a joke. The woman commenting on the piece is practically in ecstasy with her perky voice over the prospect of picnicking in Gaza, which can only be irony. A state run news station in Germany would never present, nor promote, this as a serious way to spend the afternoon (neither would a private one for that matter). You've been duped.
