2. Oh BULLSHIT! They get the day off and don't have to celebrate anything. |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-07-09 06:53 PM by HopeHoops
Some do anyway, but it is still a day off. Bill O is probably jealous because it means spending time with relatives who keep bringing up that "loofah incident".
On edit:
If he was one of my relatives, I'd host Christmas dinner and serve nothing but falafel.

"And I say unto thee... Look not, upon thee lame-brained, numb skull.... For thine is a harbinger of stupidity and idiocy.... For he hath sold his soul to the devil... For an ounce or two, of gold... Beware of the spitefulness that espouses from his lips... For his mind has been infected by locusts from hell, Sent unto the Fox Noise Channel, by Lucifer himself... Let all faithful followers of reason, flee from this beacon of absurdity... Lest ye be destined, to become Limbaugh-like, or Hannity-like, or, worst of all, Beck-like... Know NOT, thy cursed, servant of the devil... Know NOT, thy Bill O...!!!!"
"Amen."
P.S. Merry Christmas...!!!! :)

6. jealous. i was raised catholic and |
|
celebrated xmas. when i reached my early 20s, i gave up my religion (wasn't an atheist yet) and xmas became a big pain in the ass, crowds, traffic, family obligations. i hated it.
now i'm a very happy atheist. my only complaint about xmas is we can never find a restaurant open to eat.

8. I'm also a former catholic, but I'm too lazy to be an athiest. I love all holidays, |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-07-09 07:09 PM by old mark
don't care what they represent in theory, as long as tradition demands large amounts of good food. We even have a 16" high indoor live tree this year, which my wife, who is a non observant jew, really likes. We are planning to have ham, black eyed peas, corn bread, candied sweet potatos, turnip greens and waldorf salad. And presents under our little Germanic winter festival evergreen tree. FWIW, I once saw christmas referred to in a newspaper ad as "Santa Claus's birthday", so I think commerce has made serious inroads on the remaining "religious" theme of the holiday. O'Reilly is a fucking moron. I wonder if he is a catholic - he is dumb enough.

10. What an ass-hat, the sign does not represent that at all! |
|
What the sign does represent is this is the season for everyone good to each other, to respect each other!
Billo, why, why, why do you put your hating ass out there for everyone to see, or is this just your so-called, "Christian Values?"
It probably comes down to him thinking his god has a bigger dick than anybody else's god. Good luck to him and his thoughts and god-for-sakes, his god!

11. What the hell is he talking about? |
|
I give my friends and relatives gifts all year long...when I find something I think they'd like. Who gives a rat's ass (good pun!) what time of year it is when giving? I often get strange looks and "why did you give me this?" (Because I thought you'd like it, jerk!)
Now who's jealous?

12. Captain Fathead And Two Dumb Blondes. |
|
Message is clear. You can be a good person and do the right thing without the need for an all-powerful Santa God watching over you ever second, so be good for goodness sakes. Santa and presents is a metaphor for God and Heaven. We need to be bribed to do the right thing? Christian values? The Ten Commandments came from Moses. The Golden Rule is far, far older than Jesus. These rules exist to promote a harmonious society where people aren't eating each other. And Fox News can hardly claim to espouse "traditional Christian values", unless they are talking about those marvelous values that led to the Salem Witch Trials and the Inquisition.
Bill O'Reilly (What a show) Bill O'Reilly (Here we go) You're wishin' wryly That he goes away!!!
But Bill O'Reilly's here and he's here to stay!!!
Yikes.

|
A very strong atheist, and even stronger anti-religious. There is no God and the illusion is harmful. I'm for taxing all property owning religious bodies. No free pass for evil insanity (such as infant circumcision) because it's part of a religion either, please.
Of course I celebrate Christmas, as did my atheist father before me.
I don't even get offended when people say "Merry Christmas" even though it might be a fundy pinhead loyalty test.
Everyone gets the benefit of the doubt for Christmas.

15. I As an Atheist have more Respect and Understanding of Christmas than Bill does |
|
Why, because I understand its meaning. It is a day to give thanks to the birth of Jesus, a time of giving. When you understand how sacrosanct that Holiday is, you never use it for selfish reasons, that's if you truly believe.
What Bill O'Reilly and the rest of the religious right is doing to Christmas, is considered blasphemy, even worse, for they are twisting Jesus' day of birth for their own political ambitions. Disgusting...
He could give a damn about Christmas and its meaning.

Bill is a (bad) act, isn't he? Total ego on parade.
And Christians, for the most part, know nothing about their own religion. Hell, I'm a complete atheist and I know the Mass and Requiem in Latin, because I like (good) religious music and listen to it. People say "you're really a Christian or you wouldn't like all that Bach and Handel." :eyes: Yeah... I also like Indian music. Does that make me a Hindu as well? Besides, most Christians I know DON'T listen to Bach and Handel with any regularity. Guess their not Christians.... but they are as foolish and childish as Christians.
Dona Nobis Pacem.... and Hare Krishna, y'all.

What the fuck is he smoking? It marks the shortest day, hence, the beginning of the lengthening of daylight. A nice thing to have here in Seattle. You don't even have to be a pagan to be happy about the daylight hours getting longer.

Nobody has anything against anybody in this context. The entire concept of this segment and most of the other fox clips is to fan the flames of divisiveness. It's the entire divide and conquer schtick. I am horrified that there's a segment of America willing to devote their allegiance to a neo-nazi from Australia willing to destroy the United States of America.

28. Man, Bill O'Reilly is God's angry Christian. |
|
And the same can be said for Gretchen Carlson. In the fearsome real world, though, even Atheist Pope Richard Dawkins has released an encyclical proclaiming secular celebration of Christmas fitting, proper, and enjoyable for atheists. And God knows, the atheist pope is infallible. What we atheists really won't tolerate, is having religion foisted upon us by authority.
