4. The Senate is defunct.
The House may be nutty, but the Senate is clearly bought and paid for and cannot do its job. There is one and only one reason to be against meaningful HCR.... to save the insurance companies' profits. Period. That's why single payer was off the table, why it "has to" be made so complex (it doesn't), and why the Repugs are irrelevant (or should be) and why Blue Dogs will not do what a majority of their constituents want (after all, they don't pay the reelection bills). Period. All the other high and mighty reasons don't add up. The complexity is all about making things different but keeping them the same.

Insurance knows nothing about caring for patients. They are middle men....paper pushers. If all medical insurance was stopped today, they could all start insuring boats or something and their jobs wouldn't be too much different.
