2. Yeah, it's insane how they worship Saint Reagan.
It just proves how gullible the tea-bagger idiots are. You can be talking out of your ass, and as long as you sound like Reagan when he was talking out of his ass they will love you.

5. Myths vs Realities of Reagan:
Myth: Reagan reduced the size of government.
Reality: Government grew in size under Reagan. As an example, the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture adopted an ideology where farmers raised crops under target prices and lower loan rates on their crops which resulted in farmers getting more income from direct government payments and less income from their crops. Don't get me started on how Reagan got the ball rolling on the size of the military.

Myth: Reagan lowered our taxes.
Reality: He also approved what was at that time the largest tax INCREASE in history. Also, by cutting federal programs to local governments, state and local taxes had to be increased to fill the void.

Myth: Reagan was a fiscal conservative.
Reality: The largest budget deficits at the time were passed under Reagan's watch. The national debt nearly tripled under his watch. The current mindset of cutting taxes, assuming more debt and letting the next generations worry about it was unleashed under Reagan.

Myth: Reagan ended the Cold War.
Reality: The wheels were coming off the Soviet Union before Reagan took office. Example: Afghanistan. During the Carter administration, many conservatives argued that the Soviets overtook the U.S. as the world's military superpower. They invaded Afghanistan and were turned away in defeat. I personally met with people who were in the former Soviet Union before Reagan became president and observed an infrastructure in shambles. It was just a matter of time before the Soviet Union collapsed. It just became more visible to the West when Reagan was president.

Myth: Reagan stood for conservative family values.
Reality: Reagan is our only divorced president. And check the date he and Nancy were married and check the date their first child, Patti, was born. Hint: The two events occurred less than nine months apart.

Reagan Kool-Aid drinkers will immediately blame this on Congress. The Republicans controlled the Senate for six of Reagan's eight years. And, fast-forward to the Dubya years, when the Republicans controlled the House, Senate and White House for six of eight years. What did we get? Less national security, record deficit spending and increased government in our daily lives.

The myth of Reagan lives on, however, because the RW have their blathering network of talk shows that spew the lies 24/7. Too many people are too lazy to observe or open their minds; they just like what they're hearing and let the Limbaughs and Hannitys do their thinking for them...to their own demise.

6. a dying idea "
Before something dies it struggles and the it poops itself. I am not saying that the Republican party is dead or going to die(even though a lot of us would love that lol) This people most not be history lovers, a lot of there party "heroes" wouldn't add up to there standards today but like all dying movements they will martyr anyone to there cause.

8. Utopians. "We have a plan that no one can implement."
It has never worked in this country and has never worked anywhere in the world.
That's our plan and we're sticking with it.
We get attention by promising the impossible.

10. privilege for the few versus the needs of the many
that is the essense of the right left debate, and the repubs and too many dems are for privilege over need. Reagan made opulent the fraud; that the public mattered- and has boldly been proclaimed as someone who put the 'needs of the many' away, in the cupboard, outtasight and mind. Meanwhile, policies for privilege has laid waste to $23 trillion, at least. If the pigmedia EVER told the truth, then ....there'd be hell to pay! And the libleft wouldn't even have to get its hands damp
