I really think Thom is on to something here. The biggest single obstacle is shifting from blame and hatred directed at "the gub'mint" toward a sense of personal responsibility and the constructive use and view of government as the "People's Corporation".
---------
I met Thom briefly in '04 at a Democracy Radio event and am familiar with his work and I've really liked his core principals. I mention this because I haven't really listened to him more than a few minutes at a time over the past few years as I don't really have the time to do that with any of my favorites BUT I am surprised at our similar views and I want to acknowledge his voice and views and lend support.
He's a bit more of a "spiritual" type and a super brain on history, both of which I am not, but I hope more and more people can hear the issues he raises and that we can draw together more and more support for these populist, progressive and liberal issues.
I feel that barring Federal interference, the Internet and the independent voices like Hartmann, Papantonio, Uygur and others will be the place to go to circumvent the limitations of Comcast/MSNBC, Newscorp/Fox and the other Unitary Corporate Party media that can only take us so far before they have to bow to their Industrial Complex Masters. Yes, even Rachel, Keith, Ratigan and other "Lefties" are on a leash.
If you like Thom you "may" like me, I'm more pedestrian (read foul and common).
There are some like minds over at my social network. See the links below for a sample.
