There's more to what he is saying than just how Marxists react when coming to power; essentially, the underlying truth is that the Left will ALWAYS feel betrayed by the leaders it elects, and VERY QUICKLY turn against them. This is what we're seeing happen to Obama. I am glad we don't line people up and shoot them in this country, but the term 'useful idiots' applies to most in the blogosphere.

Sure, there are plenty of Useful Idiots on the Right (the Christian Right has been cynically used by Repubs for decades), but the difference is that they tend to stay useful. It is typically the Left that splinters upon coming to power and eats itself under the the rubric of Ideological Purity (or some test of ideals).

I set myself up for that partial quote that could (and would) be used to make it look like 'but' meant that I supported something similar to shooting people, when I actually went on to say merely, "the term 'useful idiots' applies to most in the blogosphere."
