into a dictatorship is that it was incrementally done through the passage of laws through a legitimate political process.

The parallels in this country are breathtaking. They had the Reichstag Fire. We had 9-11. They had the Enabling Act. We had the PATRIOT Act. They attacked Poland claiming it was self defense. We attacked Iraq using the same rationale.

Fortunately we lack the Nuremberg Laws which essentially denied civil and political right to Jews altogether, prohibiting certain livelihoods, Jews from marrying non-Jews, prohibiting Jews from public places like cinemas, swimming pools, parks, certain stores.

I do have my concerns about the FEMA camps as the concentration camps essentially started on the same premise of quarantine of "dangerous elements" from the Fatherland.

2. Parallels are eerily similar...
...BushCo is no longer trying to conceal what they are and that seems to me a very very bad sign of things soon to come.

3. I'm pretty sure I saw Cheney in that.
Just remember Bush said he would be fine with a dictatorship, as long as he was the dictator.

6. the acquiescence of the German people
is explained somewhat by the taking over of the unions. From reading, there is the additional fact that shop stewards were then turned into thugs and muscle men.
