Let's see....
The average American cuts on his lights without thinking. He doesn't know how they work or how the electricity is made, where it comes from or even the difference between AC and DC ("Aren't they a band?") ... and he doesn't care until it doesn't come on. He hops in the car and starts it up and drives off... not knowing how that works or caring...until it doesn't. He takes pills for pain, antibiotics, get vaccinated on just the word of his doctor...or maybe just the word of the TV. No problamo on all this stuff....all of which are potentially lethal... electricity (and the making of it...Nuclear power plants!) the car (compressing and igniting gas.... not to mention hurtling thru space at 70 MPH) and pills. But these things are done without a second thought because he TRUSTS science...which brought him all these wonders that make his life very much better. He trusts science implicitly!
But Climate Change! Evolution! Suddenly science is a bunch of crap! No trust there!
These same Americans sit and watch for hours stuff like "CSI" or "Law & Order" and all the spin-offs and imitations of such shows. Shows where usually the crime is shown (and often who done it) before the opening credits.... then it's an hour or so of deductive reasoning, empirical evidence and science. But during the commercial breaks and times between episodes, they throw all that deductive reasoning that entertained them for so long right out the window!
:wtf:
There's a serious disconnect here!
