In August, when I was visiting the Indian family I know in New Mexico, we were talking about this.... having to walk in one culture, while maintaining the hold on the other culture.
Its interesting that this is from New Mexico, where the predominant Indian cultures are Pueblo and Dine (not to leave out the Apache), yet the music for this is Plains.
And that is mostly what the Urban experience is..... predominantly plains.

She's from Montana, is running for Congress there and I recognize shots of the city and campus in Montana. I'll ask her where it's at though.

I was just answering because you were wondering why they would have plains music, so I gave you a plausible reason and since I'm from MT and I've been to that city and campus that's what it looks like to me.
