We need better education in all of our schools NOW!

In September the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution, sponsored by Rep. Alan Grayson that urges high schools to spend a week each September teaching the U.S. Constitution to seniors.

It would be better to start by teaching freshmen instead of the seniors considering the drop-out rate in most high schools many don't make it to their senior year!

Just for fun, here's some clips of 'dumb Americans'

3. Maybe we should have literacy tests
at polling places. Oh, and don't forget poll taxes. I think some states still have those laws on the books.

7. Stossel is a supreme dickwad. Voting is not brain surgery in the same way . . .
that voting is not operating a drill press, or pressing a suit, or leading a pep squad. It's just not the same thing.

Of course one hopes that voters have a clue what they're voting about and take the trouble to educate themselves about the issues and the candidates, but there's more to it than that. The act of voting invests one in governance. Whether your candidate wins or loses, you've put a certain amount of skin in the game, and validated the fact that you are one of the governed.

And that's important in its own right.

8. the irony is that he now works for the network with the least informed audience
so he is saying his own viewers shouldn't vote.
