Summary: Cenk reacts to that the Obama administration has encouraged the Dems to cave in to Joe Lieberman, basically destroying any chance at meaningful healthcare reform. He thinks the only option we have left is to push for reconciliation and to completely cut-off Lieberman (who was in another clip).

13. Don't be stupid.Lieberman is doing Rahm Obama's bidding.Killing the PO or anything leading
to single payer like an expansion of Medicare. The WH already bargained away the PO AND private ins. will not tolerate something that might lead to single payer, lose customers when they are gaining so many forced to buy ins. So the WH gets Joe to block it...just like they got Joe to get the torture photos banned when they were refused by the courts. Joe is the WH's man.

2. K&R This is such a shame that President Obama had the potential
to get a good bill to sign and just pissed it away by trying to be bipartisan.

28. >>just pissed it away by trying to be bipartisan.
That's the charitable explanation. Or he could just be in the corporations' pocket like most of the rest of them.

3. Just think, if not for the 2000 coup d’état
Joe Lieberman would have been “Darth Vader” instead of Dick Cheney; so after having a few beers I began to wonder. Did Lieberman get some character degrading brain damage after the 2000 coup or has he always been a scum sucking gutter pig / Republican? And how come no one ever talks about that on DU?

Just wondering

23. I've thought about this too.
I also wonder now why Gore picked him as a running mate. Sometimes there is part of me that is glad that Gore "lost" the election. The Bush years were a definite shock to the system and a wake-up call to a lot of people. I can't help wonder if we would have simply experienced a more slow, imperceptible, "slow-boil" pull to the right if things had turned out different. Although, I'm sure that many think that that is exactly what were are experiencing now.

5. I am not sure how seriously Cenk takes the word
"unacceptable". Is it unacceptable until he "throws liberals a bone in the future"? Or is it unacceptable, as the word truly means, sitting out the 2010 and 2012 elections or voting for a third party candidate. I hope it's the latter because after being abused by Bush for 8 years, it makes no sense to be abused by Dems too.

16. As a result of this dirty dealing...
59 members of the Senate Democratic caucus--along with Barack Obama and Joe Biden--stand to face upcoming elections having tatooed the words "I am Joe Liebermans's bitch" on their foreheads. And that's not a good place to be for a Democrat.

18. Dump Lieberman
Was just reading that Lieberman says he hasn't ruled out running as a Republican in his next election. In the interview he talked about liking being an independent but wouldn't rule out running as a Repug with no mention of running as a Democrat. Why the hell do we allow him in the Democratic caucus. Dump his sorry ass. If he likes being independent so much strip him of all positions and let him go caucus with himself.

21. This is very bad news.
We need to get rid of Lieberman,
not cave in to his RW agenda!

President Obama,

JOE LIEBERMAN IS NOT ONE OF US!

He doesn't care about the millions of uninsured Americans,
he cares ONLY about the insurance INDUSTRY'S ( it's BIG business)
bottom line.

Get rid of him- he's hurting us!

K&R.

What better way to show the world how progressive this country is: a Jew and a black man in the white house. Holy shit, what a dynamite combination.
