Here is a summary from Daily Kos:

Vote no on Senate Bill

Dean's two central points: (1) Saying it's "now or never" on health care reform presents a false dichotomy. Our health care system is in crisis, he says. We need to fix it now, it won't be another twenty years before we get the chance if the Senate bill fails. (2) The Senate bill fails to reform the system; indeed, it expands the current system which is already failing because it is too expensive.

Dean's bottom line: Don't give up on the fight for real reform. Say no to the Senate bill, and get something real done.

And more from another DKos post

Update II: The Plum Line is reporting:

Howard Dean: "Kill The Senate Bill"

Dean said the removal of the Medicare buy-in made the bill not worth supporting, and urged Dem leaders to start over with the process of reconciliation in the interview, which is set to air at 5:50 PM today on Vermont Public Radio, political reporter Bob Kinzel confirms to me.

snip

In an excerpt Kinzel gave me, Dean says:

"This is essentially the collapse of health care reform in the United States Senate. Honestly the best thing to do right now is kill the Senate bill, go back to the House, start the reconciliation process, where you only need 51 votes and it would be a much simpler bill."

Kinzel added that Dean essentially said that if Democratic leaders cave into Joe Lieberman right now they’ll be left with a bill that’s not worth supporting.

1. First, watch the video. I trust HD. Level headed analysis, and truly dedicated to public health.

He knows this issue front to back and speaks so intelligently others would have to be on teleprompters to compete.

How long before the M$M start rerunning the audio edited scream speech again? The corporates will have to discredit him again. He knows this.

50 state strategy brought us the majority and the Dems kicked him to the curb; yet, he's still in the game. Way more trusted than the spin masters we elected.

2. The country missed out not electing Dean five years ago
I supported Clark back then but now wish Dean had gotten the nomination.

16. *eyaaaheee....!!!!!*
Amen, brother....
AMEN..!!
Dean was then, and is now, the Only dem who seems to know what he's doing...
and the ONLY one with the balls to do it..!!!
I was for Hillary...
voted for Obama...
and NOW, it's starting to look pretty bleak for the dems regarding health care and in the mid-term
elections and beyond...
Y-I-K-E-S...!!!
Unless Obama suddenly tells everyone that he's in charge, and no one else is....
and ACTS like it...
the repugnacons are likely to take over the Congress next cycle...
What is really sickening is that Obama was handed the presidency on a silver platter...
ANYONE could have beat the repugnacons AFTER dubya...!!!
And what are we doing with it...???
NOTHING....!!!
After butting heads with the repugnacons over and over again, you'd think that Barrack
would have realized that you can't deal with the arrogant, self-centered, clones of big business...
The ONLY thing they understand is force...
You'd think that Rahm would have conveyed that to President Obama...
I dunno.
It's getting pretty depressing...
Is the failure of the Obama Administration to reform health care, either adequately, or at all...
is this gonna be the catalyst for a Palin presidential bid...???
OMG...!!!
Where's the Pepto-Bismol...???
For temporary relief, I say LYNCH LIE-BERMANN...!!
LOL...!!!

3. You know...back in 2004
I was a Dean *darlin* and was truly pissed beyond belief when the media basically trashed his run with that utterly ridiculous sound bite of his *eyaaaheee* call. (made all the more ludicrous when you realized it had to do with the sound system, and why the F couldn't he make a whoop if he was happy anyway????)

It pissed me off so much I was turned off of following serious politics with serious passion for a lonnnng time. I thought Dean was too good for the damned political circus 2004 became.

As much as I want to see a big win for the people of this country regarding health care, and as much as I want Barack Obama to accomplish wonderful things that will live up to my faith in him...I can't come to grips with this watered down bill. Settling? Is that what we want to do if there is a possibility of really doing great things if the Democrats would toughen up just LITTLE and be a lot stronger in the face of jerk-off obstructionists???

I agree with Mr. Dean. Is this a win for a win's sake and not a genuine reform bill? It's pains me to think that yeah, it is. A fair bill that gets a few very decent things done just doesn't live up to the GREAT bill it should be with the party in power, in power!

4. It's disappointing but it's so essential that figthing for real reform must keep on keeping on....

As Jeff Farias says we shouldn't make it about the aforementioned Senator from CT, it should be about Reid who allows it and doesn't use his powers to restrain him.

10. No Democrat who voted against the original bill deserves to win over a Republican
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 12:15 AM by tomm2thumbs

They should be replaced in primaries across the board. These idiots need to be kicked out entirely - starting with that shrunken apple-headed Senator from Connecticut.

13. absolutely!

I was referring to the original bills (public option or with Medicare expansion) - I went back and noted 'original' to reflect that.

There is no reason to vote yes on something just to push it through - it is a disservice to taxpayers. If they can't get this bill passed, they need to do reconciliation for whatever they can get and eliminate the kickbacks to the Insurance industry. Then, they need to start regulating the hell out of the Insurance industry. I would think that anti-trust statutes, anti-racketeering and other laws on the books should be pursued to the greatest extent possible.

And I've never seen him so mad. Normally he's smiling. Not today.

Thanks Dr. Dean.

20. This is what I needed to hear.
Dreaded that it would happen all along, so
I am not so much disappointed as I am depressed
about it.

I will write my Senators and Congressperson.

I am ashamed of being a Democrat today.
