This analysis is dead on, and the most disheartening part is at the end when he says what the corporate Democrats will conclude when they lose, ''We lost because we weren't enough like the Republicans.''

17. not just campaign finance, but weld the door shut between elected office and corporate lobbying, CEO
and board member jobs, and anything even slightly related and ban the holding of those jobs by the immediate family of the office holder.

If someone makes $5 mil a year working for the same employer before and after they serve in elected office and make just a couple of hundred K while in office, isn't it reasonable to assume they were really working for their past and future employer the whole time?

3. Absolutely correct - even the last moment where he predicts that...
Dem losses will make the party think they have to go further right.

8. And I'm beginning to think that's been the grand plan all along.
I think we've been heavily infiltrated, and there aren't enough true Dems left to turn the tide. It really feels like we're handing them 2010 on a silver platter at this point.

4. I love that they keep painting the bill as "moderate"
It's a straight up fuck you to the American people and a blowjob for the Insurance companies.

It's as right wing as it gets.

13. The American government is going to declare itself bankrupt
there will be an international outcry - and I mean global no-fkn way - the corporations will have a get together and say -
"ok - hang on - we can fix this - but if we do we want more say".......

Corporations are already running the US - it is simply a matter of time before this is acknowledged publicly and sanctioned by law.

Corporate state, corporatocracy or FASCISM as it was known in Italy has been the dream since immediately after the second world war - in fact
the demise of the East India trading Company was seen as a major set back.

This is where we are heading folks - there is NO doubt about that.

6. No, he understates it. They're shitting on the Dem base.
And later they'll wonder why that base shrinks.

10. I remember the last time that the left was dismissed by the powers that be as irrelevant and
childish. We got ourselves into Iraq. What a winner that was! (Is) So their track record is perfect when it comes to knowing what's best for us.

12. We should not be surprised.
There has never been a society in history where the interests of the rulers were good for the subjects. The great error regarding the issues of our time is for we subjects to assume we are masters just because we have a symbolic constitutional government. Why do you suppose Joe Lieberman poses with the same simian smirk George Bush always wore behind his silver spoon?

20. It's heartbreaking, really.
This all started under the pretense of saving Americans from those awful insurance giants. Save lives and money.

And it looks like it ends with everyone being delivered right into their waiting jaws.
