Edwards makes light of the tough lot for Tyson food processing workers in Mississippi; in particular, he and a woman who takes part in the discussion note the long hours and danger of remaining in poverty.

1. "Makes light of" - how do you figure?

Seems to me he's shining a light on their working conditions and bringing it to the public's attention, not making light of them.

Sorry, I chose poor phrasing - "shining a light" is a much better way to put it.

In any event, Edwards has had a series of such events, and I was happy to see this one; poultry farming is big business in this area and workers are treated pretty shabbily from what I've seen.

That's what I meant to say - sorry for the poor phrasing there. :) And I can't think of anyone else who has gone to Canton, MS, to discuss these probelms - so good on Edwards.
