Journalist Naomi Klein calls the COP15 talks "a very polite affair" for focusing on "false solutions" that fail to address the role corporate lobbyists play in influencing climate change policy. "While there are endless sessions about how poor countries should adapt to climate change, there are very few sessions - if any - that are looking at the role corporations are playing in creating this crisis," says Klein.

1. Thank you Naomi Klein for sharing your brilliance with the world.....
I'm curious to find out if one of the real solutions will be to end poverty?

5. A thorough and talented journalist.
I wish we had thousands more journalists like her working in the media.

Then again, I wish we had hundreds of news organizations that actually cared enough about the news to employ journalists like her.

We might actually have a real representative republic, instead of pretending to. Our representatives might actually feel some pressure to represent us, instead of corporations. And there might be some kind of real check on corruption.

Journalists were intended to be the safety valve keeping government honest. But it can't happen without journalists like her, and media organizations like The Nation.

6. I think too close a relationship with any media organization other
than DemocracyNow! would cramp her style.

I was an activist in the 60s and 70s, then life and family diverted my attention. During my reawakening, I came across her "Shock Doctrine," and I've gone on from there.

We need more like her.
