I think it's probably more likely that there is a policy to delete any thread that enough people complain about. (i.e click the 'Alert' link)

11. this is getting a bit creepy -

two otherwis innocuous posts got deleted in which the member politely suggested there might be "rogue" elements on DU having powers to "disappear" threads critical of certain Israeli policies.
Any thoughts, moderators?
