2. No, it seems to have been gaining strength
since Montazeri's funeral last week.

What we don't know, and it's probably a good thing, is the type of leadership this has.

This is the most dangerous phase for any uprising, when it's starting to coalesce around a group of leaders but those leaders are extremely vulnerable to assassination by the state.

As soon as either the police or military start to defect to the uprising, those leaders will appear.

I think this will end well. Either the present government will be overthrown or the present government will be forced to moderate after the uprising is crushed.

3. The brave Iranians have not suffered tyrants well
in the past...present government is not reading history well nor learning from it and is playing with tinderboxes and fire while "governing" from a matchbox.
