This is probably the best video I've seen come from inside of this revolution. The courage and determination of these protestors is inspiring.

For those interested in the source of the blood, I believe that this video may explain it. There was much discussion of an elderly man murdered on Ashura day, when this took place, and I believe this may be it. The same blue sign that is featured in the first video is briefly seen in this video. Please think twice about watching this video, however. I cannot begin to describe how graphic and disturbing it is. But for those interested in a more complete story, I will post it. It is unclear what happened to him, but given his distance from the riot police, a gunshot wound seems most likely.

Warning! Graphic!

This appears to be how the incident began (again connecting the events by the blue sign). Unfortunately, the man in the striped shirt is also eventually either severely injured or killed.

Warning! Graphic!

Finally, this site shows some still photos from the event, including protesters attempting to protect the riot police and the elderly man who was killed.

Warning! Graphic!

I apologize for the long post and graphic images, but this is probably the best documented event of the Iran protests I've seen and I think these people's courage and determination is something we should all be aware of.

1. Absolutely chilling and important.
These people are farlessly opposing tyranny.

I am amazed at the number of yung women on the front lines and the number of people holding up their hands in a peaceful demonstration of nonvilent resistance and peace signs!

Simply some of the most incredible protest video i have ever seen.

Thanks.

I cannot really handle the graphic stuff, but it needs to be available as proof of all that is happening.

These folks want an end to tyranny.

15. I am from there....
And let me tell you, they have had it. They are the most educated, young, and socially chained, and desperate population. They hate the damn religion and they will die to take a free breath.

3. Agreed on the courage of the people.
I just watched this piece. Not sure I want to watch the graphic pieces though. If its just a bloody face, I can probably handle that. Already saw bloody face of cop who got snot beat out of him from protester. I also read that Mousive(sp) has fled Terhan--and probably good move on his part--assuming he thought his life was in danger. I'm still waiting to see some news that the supreme dictator will also flee as supposed claim came out he wanted his plane ready so he could flee if he decided. That would be a good thing. The future of the people of this country is in their hands. Commentator on CNN yesterday believed protestors have upper hand since some police are surrendering to protesters. So a crack in the rule of a military ruler has developed. Amazing.

4. Mousavi has not left. That was misinformation.
And I hear you on the graphic videos and photos. I do not like to watch them either. I presented them only as a means to complete the story of the first video, which shows both the blood and the reaction of the men's murders. These people reacted to those amongst them being killed by charging those with the guns. Once the level of anger and frustration amongst a people gets to that level, it's only a matter of time before the government falls.

Thanks for the link to Iran News Digest. I haven't seen the site before, a great place to stay on top of the revolution.

6. WOW.
It is amazing to see a group of 50 riot police thugs, in full body gear with batons, cowering from the rage of over a thousand citizens armed with nothing more more than cell phones, a few rocks, and a tsunami of rage.

If the Iranian people can pull this off, it's going to be huge. I wish them luck.

Too bad we aren't as brave as they are. The rich crooks who lie to us and steal from us everyday would be shaking in their boots.

10. It makes you wonder
What our would would look like now if we had done the same when Bush stole the election.
But we are too scared of all kind of things like loosing our job or going to jail much less than that of being killed standing up against a tyrant.

11. Yes. I have wondered that.
What would have happened if the phony ass "Brooks Brothers Riot" had been replaced by the real thing, by people enraged that their votes had actually been stolen.

I'm angry with myself that I didn't do anything about it. I'm angry with Democratic leaders that they didn't ask me to.

12. Another fascinating video of this event.

A wounded soldier appears to be instructed to remove his uniform before being taken away by motorcycle, presumably for medical help.

14. what next?
Sure its fun to watch the police get their asses kicked by the protesters — but now what?
when the iranian government/theocracy has had enough, they're going to send out their armed police — like last time —
and start killing the protesters at random... then the protesters will gradually stop the protests and go back to their daily lives.
So im not sure what they are accomplishing here, but I wish them the best of luck in their quest for freedom.

17. Thanks for this thread!
I was completely oblivious that any of this was still going on.

It's hard to watch. After seeing those people get shot it makes you want to jump into the video and beat those islamic fascists heads into the pavement.

But maybe that's just me.

20. The rest of the world suffers our mistakes more acutely than we do.
If we had to experience personally what Bush did to parts of this world, our streets would have looked like that too.
