given all the issues that the progressive and democratic communities are fighting over these days, at least this ONE issue can unite everyone. investigate and try the mofos and put them behind bars.

12. put them behind bars...um... sorry.... (don't hold your breath) |
|
it will not happen
not enough millions of people in the streets (even not enough dozens of people to begin with) launching a national strike unlimited in time
because of too many iPods, twitters & co, the latest video games in stores, football, etc.
if only we had a real Democratic (principles of true justice, not corporate greed) super-majority, sure.

President Obama thought that by refraining from prosecuting his predecessors he would gain cooperation from the "loyal" opposition -- He was wrong!

In both healthcare and the recent stimulus bills, the democrats took request after request and ammendment after ammendment on bills where it painfully clear that not a single Republican would vote. If the democratic party can not see very clearly that they will get no cooperation at all at THIS POINT IN THE GAME, then the hope that there would be some cooperation in the very beginning is just wishful thinking. It really is maddening that our party is told very bluntly that they WILL NOT GET ANY SUPPORT....EVER!!!... from the Republican party and yet they still give in to people who do not have the wishes of the country in mind. The Republicans don't even hide it. They tell the Democrats that no matter what you do, we will vote against anything you do. I have no idea why they keep up this behavior. As a democrat, is very emotionally unhealthy to pay attention to what is happening. It is really embarrassing to be a democrat right now.
My second point is that Rachel should not be reporting on this at all. The place where we should be hearing of this evidence is in a court hearing as they are reading the guilty verdicts for the last S.O.B.s in office.

|
the MSM will not report it, the only way to force the DOJ and other legal entities to pursue this is to put it out for all to see. There is probably more evidence that's not being reported but this is a start...
We have to pressure the Dems to pursue this illegal activity....Rummy and Cheney among others committed war crimes and should be prosecuted.

This may sound be a stupid question, but -- why were they trying so fucking hard to prove the Iraq - Al Qaeda link after the fact? They had already duped who they needed to dupe to invade, already gotten their twisted war. Were there legal ramifications if they were wrong? Or was the potential political fallout too scary?
Meanwhile, they roam free....

22. I'd be more interested in the link between al Qaeda and the republican party. |
|
Think about it. Name two groups that want Obama to fail: al Qaeda and the republicans. Name two groups who are constantly making exaggerated statements to their followers condemning the American government: al Qaeda and the republicans. Name two groups who approve of using torture for political gain: al Qaeda and the republicans. I could go on.
When will Americans wake up and realize who their true enemy is?

24. Bingo! You win the prize. Once the neocons established the link |
|
between al Qaeda and Iraq, it further neutralized their own possible link with al Qaeda, and gave them more cover for their--the Neocons--participation in 9-11. It's all beginning to unravel. But why now? Think about it. Who else needs cover now?

Just like the republicans! Even using the same words and phrases in some cases.
There is example after example of the common cause of al Qaeda and the republicans living among us here in America: Bring Obama down, and bring America down with him.

Since our government is so corrupt (still), another country, with real principles, will prosecute bush and cheney. We know that unfortunately (I worked for his election too, after Kucinich was forced out)this administration will NEVER prosecute these bastards. Hell, it is obvious to me that there is only one party with two names.....so sad.

How can Obama turn his back on war crimes? Does an American President get to decide what laws are inforced or not? I thought the laws applied to everyone. If Obama wants to turn his base around..all he would have to do is uphold the law and investigate these war crimes. Is that too much to ask?

16. Perhaps you can write to journalists and get them to do what they are supposed to do..... |
|
and bring this shit out in the open.
Instead of pointing your finger, use both your hands and start writing to the media, and demand that they investigate this shit....cause that's what journalists are supposed to do.... just like this one did. Problem is she is just one, not enough to get the ball rolling.
Obama is about to provide a mountain of evidence via declassifying certain documents. He's doing his job on this, IMO. But he ain't supposed to be the lonely warrior...

I happen to write letters to my Senators and representatives along with signing petitions both on and off line. I also make personnal phone calls to my Senators and representatives and local government officials as well. I have marched, painted signs and attended town hall meetings and I have also written newspapers and the tv stations. I worked damned hard to get Obama elected. I am also vocal with my own circle of friends and family which happens to be very large..and in my Church. I happen to be very active in politics. What have you done besides follow me from the last post?

That's why Cheney continues to go after Obama in such a vicious relentless manner. That's why these neocons are so determined to polish Bush's legacy. Anyone involved in ordering torture should be held accountable, including Cheney.

Not because it will put American troops in the mid-east in greater danger, but that we will all see once and for all that Bush, Cheney and the rest committed war crimes.
Americans understand that a picture is worth a thousand words. Even the staunchest Repub would finally have to admit America committed crimes against humanity...

32. In it's basic sense, this is treason... |
|
I wonder how much cheney would spill if he was charged with treason and facing the DP...after all, that is the maximum sentence for treason.
Cowards always seek justification for their acts, this was an act of terror perpetrated by a high government official. It really doesn't get much worse than this.
Let's see ow cheney holds up under a simple interrogation, no torture, just what an average suspect in a serious crime has to go through...my money is on his crumbling within 15 minutes.

Great job as usual, Rachel. But Boyz will be boyz, presidents will be presidents, veeps will be creeps, and in Amurikha, drips never become satisfying torrents of **truth. For as there is honor amongst thieves, so is there honor amongst thieving presidents. Rahmobahma is honoring, will honor, the rights, privileges, and immunities of his duly respected predecessor in good standing, just as he hopes and expects that he too will be so rightfully honored and immunized by his own successor.. and history, if only because he too cliquishly obeyed the code of presidential immunity. The King is dead, Long live the King...
** Among the drips that never became a torrent of attempted truth seeking: JFK assassination Warren Commission coverup Nixon's Watergate criminal trial preempted by pardon Reagan's Iran-contra accomplices immunized & pardoned GWbush/cheney 911 Commission coverup The only deep penetrating probe twas into the Clinton on-the-job blowjob sob
