7. YOU BETCHA! criticism is good, donkey!
had the rightwing criticised gee bush more, it might have helped (but as yall know; in 'Up From Conservativism" by repub scholar Michael Lind, the scheme devised after 1964 goldwater debacle, to take control of USA, was simple and direct, and basically, no criticism of ANY rightwing was allowed, no matter how justified, or helpful- winning control was ONLY objective, then looting the public treasury followed etc, in order to destroy the idea of a public interest/government, forever, hahaha {just lookit how they iggy Ron Paul, for example}...)
AN nyone thinks anything but another revolution will fix 'the sinker' is bonkers, but still lefties dare to hope Obama can stand tall while he's actually in a log rolling contest- all by hisself! thanks to rightwing reactionary planning

Enough of the Obama = Bush OPs. Enough!

If you want to discuss what you would like President Obama to do, then post something that says what you want. Don't just post bashes. No, thank you, very much!

You don't even bother to comment on the video. What, exactly, is your point?

10. How about this
Stop appointing Bush appointees (Geithner Gates, Bernanke, I could go on)
End the Patriot Act
Close Guantanamo
END THE WARS!!!!! and stop pretending we aren't occupiers (how would we resond to another countries' troops here?)
More openness in government
Open hearings on Bush and 911
Stop preventing some decent health care for American citizens
Stop letting the bankers rob us blind
Get rid of Rahm Emmanuel
Prevent full body scanners-what happened here? An excuse to take more freedoms away from us? I think we are getting hip to this-hopefully
http://haskellfamily.blogspot.com/2010/01/latest-story-by-kurt-haskell.html

That's all I can think of right now-and I voted for him-what a sucker-I am extremely disappointed
in this poor excuse for an administration.
The bad news is the only other person to vote for (after the threw Dennis Kucinich out of debates!)
is a nut case.
I hope we wake up before too long

You forgot "prosecute war criminals".
But hey, not a bad "fer starters" list.

(So we'll keep working on it ... because
that's just who we are and what we gotta do.
Happy New Year.)

19. Good Post Peggy Day
The only folks who don't think Obama & Bush are working for the same people, are the one's who are not paying close attention.

American's are the most easily fooled people on the planet.

5. Is Obama Being Too Bush-Like? Yes.
And its just a damn shame. One has to weep.
He could have been THE most transformational and outstanding President
in the history of this country. It was practically a done deal.

And that's what we hoped for, change that we could believe in.
But that isn't what we got.
We got more of the same. Too damn much more of the same.
One has to weep.

(as for predator drone strikes in Pakistan mentioned in the clip -
those are war crimes, in case anyone was too bleeping stupid to figure
that out for themselves.)

11. They're missing the point: Bush never seriously went after al-Qaeda.
Whether you agree with him or not Obama is serious about going after al-Qaeda for real, not for the occasional talking point. He is the opposite of Bush in this regard.

12. No idea at all what you mean. Obama is going after the 100 or
so al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and this makes him doing a better job than Bush. In the middle of the worse financial crisis in history Obama is spending a million dollars per year per soilder in a war that the defense department has recently admitted is going so badly there is possible chance of winning. Meanwhile, al Qaeda is somewhere else setting us up to spend more money fighting their 10 or 15 people who job it is to get the US to spend money. The entire world is laughing at us on the one hand, and enraged with us on the other.

14. Very Insightful
and to me this is exactly what Al-Qaeda wants us to do. Create terrah ghosts and implement fear in America they win we lose.

I truly thought Obama understood this and with his great ability to project his thoughts via words it should have been an easy sell. Instead he seems to have caught counsel from some Neo-cons...

Isn't that exactly what screwed Bush? The Neo-Cons will destroy us.

17. Exactly. They will destroy in known collaboration with with al
qaeda right under Obama's nose. I do not believe Obama is in with the rest of the pack; however, I believe he is being used by the Neocons in the same way a priest might use a parishioner by virtue of the absolute trust in the partitioner. I believe Obama has education smarts, but likes a certain degree of common sense and well as advanced perspication. In another time, Obama would be doing much better. Right now we need an FDR-James Bond-Judge Roy Bean. We have played in the terrorist hands for over a decade now--maybe two. Our epitaph will read: America made a lot of money, even though they were dumber than rocks.

Obama is going after people in Paksitan, much more than Cheney/Bush did.

This straetgy might have some very, very harmfull effects on Americans.

wrong wrong wrong... Now, surely someone will come on and say: listen, Icee, Obama knows way more than you do about what's going on... No, that would be a negative: Obama knows much more about what he is being told by the neocons and quasi neocons. And in the spirit of CJ Cranes post to you, if we could get someone inside the neocon circle, or plant a bug in Dick Cheney, we would likely know the neocon's next move and whether it is a good idea to leave whatever city we may live in. The neocons are planning another 9-11 to do what they failed to do in Iraq: bring the US including Obama down.

13.  Yes, Yes and more Yes...
Anybody that blindly follows is a fool and a hypocritical one to boot.

From the latest terrah rants that Obama broadcast just today to his foolhardy SURGE in the "GOOD" war???? (since when is any war a good war to a (l)iberal) to his allowing big Pharma and big Insurance to navigate the Health Insurance Reform packages he is exactly like Bush.

Next we will be invading Yemen or possibly even Iran, what will you say then? Sure there are minute differences but Bush was the worst President ever didn't you want Obama to be the Best ever?

You should ask yourself why you are settling for the second worst President ever instead of demanding more from him.

27. That's not change; that's more of the same!
My, how Joe Biden's campaign words reverberate in my head every time I see the essence of this topic.

Let's see, - Extraordinary Rendition - Torture - Patriot Act - Patriotic American Act - State Secrets - Real ID - Bailouts - Economic Stimulus - Iraq War - not to mention - automobile checkpoints - random searches - mandatory identification cards - and paramilitary police in our streets . . . What do you think?

# 10, Comment by Peggy Day defines the problem/solution in the first 11 lines. We need change,

When the president is speaking on his own, what he say make a lot of sense. However, when he speaks on the basis of what he has heard from his advisers, things seem to revert to the "more of the same" mode.

Doing things that are known to be unpopular because the have to be done may be justifiable (like continuing the bank and wall street bailouts), but is it really when it's at the economic peril of the rest of the nation? Continuing the illegitimate war in Iraq, tolerating Israeli/Palestinian conflict while pandering the peace process and escalating the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan as vengeance for 911 exacerbates the "terrorist threat" and damages what internal structure that may exist in these sovereign nations. These "inherited" problems need changed solutions not more of the same.
