30. Pat lives in the wrong testimate. Once Jesus was crucified .. that was the end of lighting from the |
|
sky punishment. Unless this is the end of days. Which I don't think it is in my lifetime.
Rush's comment though was far worse. Sick sick man, who really has made a pact with the devil. I think Gabriel (The Prophecy movies) really would cut Rush's testicles off and make Rush eat them.

4. Robertson said "It's a true story" during that wierd statement. |
|
What is prompting even this deluded person to attribute Haiti's casting off slavery under the French rule to evil supernatural forces? He actually thinks this is the most likely explanation? Is this just more racist expression cloaked in Church clothing?

and Pastor Pat would probably tell you that Lincoln made a pact with the Devil to defeat the Confederacy and free the slaves. This is the same Pastor Pat who ran for the presidency, claiming to be a combat veteran of the Korean war until it was disclosed that he was actually a liquor purchasing office in Japan thanks to the pull of his daddy the US Senator. This is also the same Pastor Pat who has been seriously implicated in the blood diamond trade in the name of doing the Lord's work in Africa. Hell, I've had more intimate contact and respect for the Lord while full of tequila, shaking my fist at the night sky, demanding to know why the world is so fucked up and challenging him to come down to earth and fight man to man (and meaning it) than that holier than thou poser ever had.

If that is the god these wonderful christians get all giggly for, they can have it. Funny how this supposedly omnipotent christian god is rather trigger happy when it comes to inflict pain, but he is rather hands off when it comes to help us. Can't say I am really impressed if that is the case, because then the christian god and the US government seem to be on the same page: unlimited resources for war and destruction, but when it comes to actually helping people... not so much.
Stay classy asshole....

17. The Roman Catholic Church has been vilified by many |
|
reactionary preachers in so-called Christian churches. I had the unpleasant experience of listening in church to a Southern Baptist blow-hard catigate the Catholic Church especially claiming that Catholics are not true Christians. Alarmingly I also heard a sermon in a Lutheran Church claiming that Catholics worship a dead God since they display the crucifix with the body of Christ. This is the sort of thing that turned me against churchin' altogether. I Was a member of the Episicopal Church since childhood until adult hood in which I witnessed so much hypocricy I coulnd't abide it anymore. I look to my God in my own way now without undergoing the brainwashing most churches use to "gather the flock". Haiti's problem has always been lack of decent leadership integrity.

15. This is common talk for crazy fundies. |
|
My sister suffers from extreme debilitating anxiety and the fundie folks who come to pray with her told her that the anxiety is the Devil inside of her and that her weak faith is not kicking the Devils ass (my words here). That is why she has anxiety. Whatever is wrong with Pat and his minions, causes pain across the globe. So sad.

22. Remember the antiChrist |
|
Christ told us the feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, etc. He told us radicle things like turn the other cheek instead of eye for an eye. He taught us forgiveness.
Those opposed to that or those who do no do that can be thought of as ANTI Christ.

Relatively speaking, Shep is probably the most honorable reporter they have there. He departs from the Fox script more than all his colleagues over there.
I hope this warm but tepid endorsement from a liberal Dem on DU doesn't get him fired from Fox. He'd probably do OK elsewhere. He's reasonably appealing. Doesn't make me want to stick icepicks in my forehead like Beck, Doocy, Killmead, Carlson, Cavuto, Hannity and Orally do.

|
Thy name is Katrina. Except the government didn't intentionally abandon it's citizens here, they couldn't do much anyway. For both Shep Smith and Anderson Cooper, their reporting and outlook changed from those events and it's reflected in their reporting.

That is my take on what his words imply, if the early Haitians could only win their freedom with the help of the devil.
But seriously, this guy is a Christian extremist who ignores the model of Jesus in favor of everything Jesus spoke against!

|
The moral seems to be if these upstarts only knew their place and accepted their lot as slaves, they'd still be OK in his book.
Certain people should follow their God's will and accept their miserable lives, so that the privileged can enjoy theirs!
