http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/its-over-by-digby-in-case-you-were.htmlSeveral commentators, including such luminaries as political cross dresser Matthew Dowd on ABC, insisted that the first thing the president has to do is pick a huge fight with the Democrats to show the country that he isn't one of them. Cokie said he should have asked John McCain from the beginning what he was allowed to do.

4. He's already tried that. It hasn't worked. |

He needs us. Do they seriously think Republicans are going to vote for Obama? Or even with Obama?
No way. Obama has one choice: be a true Democrat.
We have nothing to lose from dropping him like a hot potato if he doesn't respond to us at least on most things.
We will gain nothing if the Republicans are strengthened -- and neither will he.
He will just look weak and lose the respect of the Republicans if he picks a fight with Democrats.
That is the worst advice ever -- unless you are a Republican, which Cokie Roberts certainly is. I don't know about Matthew Dowd.

Yeah...that's it. Maybe he can come up with some brilliant idea to give ANOTHER tax cut to the wealthy? That would go over good with the fascist party.
What a total clown!

7. The Sunday talks shows had |

a theme. That theme was how Democrats can save face by moving to the 'right' on every issue.
I'm sure that is what the electorate wanted when they overwhelmingly swept Republicans from power in 2006 and 2008. Yeah, that's the ticket, let's go right.

Among the other crape, Chuck Todd threw out that crape that BO needed to start to run AGAINST the D congress because Reagen ran against the ... D congress ...
SOMEHOW, this all makes sense to these arsehats Reagen ran against the OPPOSITION party, so therefor BO needs to run against HIS party ...

If Obama would just govern more like Reagan he would be more acceptable to Republicans.
Thing is, Obama was elected, and a majority in congress was elected because they no longer believed in the Republican brand.
Chuck Todd is a complete sellout and recognized as such by most on DU.

talking heads shooting off their mouths like they actually know what they are talking about. Anyone on this forum could do the job these people do, and I think most people in this forum could say much more relevant things then these idiots. Like most media heads, they have no ethics, they follow no doctrines, their opinions are just their own, and they're looking out for their portfolios.

13. Morning Joe was saying this too |
|
He was giving advice on the State of the Union address and suggested that Obama throw his base under the bus and announce he was extending the Bush tax cuts---that his success or failure rode with the independents.
Maybe that's the re-election strategy----keep the independents at any cost---throw the left under the bus---and assume they'll support you anyway if you give them lip service later.
We'll see.

15. This jack-off is actually spewing out shit like Obama was voted into office to be non-partisan |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-25-10 04:51 PM by LaPera
Republicans ALWAYS preach "bipartisanship" when a Democrat is in power, But ALWAYS say fuck you to the democrats & bipartisanship when the republicans control the power....This occurs every single time, and many spineless Dems inevitably go along with this horseshit as if republicans have any track record for truth, honor or for having any scruples what so ever. Dowd wants us to believe Obama was not elected for change, to get things done for the working people, the poor & middle class and to make drastic moves away from the corporate republican fascist ideology but instead to please the fucking republicans.
As if Obama should be working to please this pile of shit republican Dowd, and the 50 million republicans who voted for McCain....Village idiot Dowd wants all to believe Obama should fuck over his own democratic party to help & please republicans and the corporations....
I suppose republicans really believe if they just put the bullshit out there and spew the bullshit, other republicans will pick up on it keep the bullshit going, and then people will embrace it as a real objective and it might happen and help their slimy partisan interest.
Who would ever take advice from this complete asshole Dowd? He's just another republican motherfucker, a liar, who should be bitch-slapped upside his head with a 2 by 4 - everyday, just to keep this asshole from saying stupid shit like this!!
