I can honestly tell you that NONE of the corporations we bailed out needed to be bailed out in order to preserve the nation's economic system and/or protect our economy from collapse.

And the bailout had nothing to do with increasing the flow of credit which was the original excuse for the Wall Street bailout.

inquiries. The examining members of Congress do not have enough time to conduct a reasonable and thorough examination of the witnesses.
The witnesses have learned how to game these hearings so that they are never pinned down. The witnesses can just lie to their hearts' content.
I do not know, but I have the feeling that Paulson and Geithner told some whoppers in these hearings -- some big whoppers. The examiners never get enough time to follow through on the testimony.
If they can't change the procedures, then the examiners should coordinate their questions so that the witnesses can't just evade the questions for the entire questioning period.
Congress, please change your rules so that you can get honest answers out of your witnesses.
