This is what I want to see tonight. It's time to stop singing and start swinging. We're damned if we don't and damned if we do. Our opponents hate us, and THEY ARE OUR ENEMIES! There is no partisanship. There is no cooperation. We are up against a nasty foe. Liars, cheats, bullies, thiefs, power mongers.

This time it's not about black or white, but about liberal versus conservative.

Tonight I want Obama X.

2. Sorry, but I think the methodology of Dr. King will be more in evidence

That was what you (well, not you, since maybe you didn't vote for him anyway) bought when you voted for Obama. He made it very clear he adheres to the King methods as opposed to the "ballot or bullet" tactics that Malcolm subscribed to (and later renounced).

3. I'm beginning to think that's the problem.
I'm sick of the weak, middle of the road, bipartisan, bland, accepting spirit. I want fighting now. I lived through the idiotic and damaging drug war. I still cannot believe that nearly everyone just sat and took it. And here we are with a majority in Congress, and we're still not exerting our force.

I know what you mean. I like part of Malcolm X. But not all of what he stands for.

The way I see it, there is theory and there is practice. Martin is theory, Malcolm is practice.

I believe in loving thy enemy. But man that sure is a long process. I'll be dead before I ever see the fruits of my labor. I want to see results. And I don't think Republicans respond to theory. They need forcing. Like the O'Keefe thing. That's exposing them for the garbage they are. To me, that was just a lucky strike. But it was the swinging that results in change. We sat around and tried to rebut the ACORN accusations. A lot of good that did. But now it's pretty obvious who the criminals are.
