2. He should have had them stand up
I liked seeing the Supreme Court called by the POTUS for their decision and and entire room (minus Rethugs) applauding that they agree that the SCOTUS made a decision that is very bad for the country.

3. What is Alito saying?

It looks like he's saying something, but I can't figure out what and to whom.

6. He's shaking his head,
and mouthing the words, "Not true."

(Sometimes lip reading comes in handy.)

4. Oh, Not to Worry. He'll get a sweet note from the W.H explaining
the politics of it all, Pointing out that he's gotta keep those
fucking retarded liberals and progressives sedated or they'll endanger the entire plan.

5. I love the part where he more or less said Democrats don't be scared, Republicans don't be a**holes.

8. It was rude, but in a way it's useful that Alito did that.
It puts the lie to the sillly notion that Supreme Court justices are somehow rarefied philosophers, far above petty things like politics or ideology. We are all political and ideological animals--particularly those who deny it.

9. I lost respect for this court after the 2000 election "one-time only" ruling
the point of the rebuke was to tell congress to bring Obama legislation to sign that corrects for the abuses that are coming from this new ruling.

in that case, it is perfectly right.

it's not the first time one branch has rebuked another.

11. I also lost respect for the SC when they did that in 2000
and started looking at them in a whole new light. I have called my senators more than once on this.

This is the time to push publicly funded elections. Hell, we pay more in the long run for this type of system.

Why don't we also have a rule on the length of time to campaign? This next day after election seeking funds for re-election is ridiculous!!!

12. 2000 was the Rehnquist Court now it is the Roberts Court
but I agree the court has jumped the shark and legislation will not correct this.
We are so screwed, corporations now rule.

13. I know. after I typed that, I knew I would get a response about it
SDO is gone, Rehnquist is gone.

original sc5: SDO, Rehnquist, Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas

funny how the names change but the song remains the same... or worse.

I would be more accurate to say that I no longer view the supreme court with respect after the 2000 selection, which also involved Kennedy, Scalia, and Thomas. Alito and Roberts would have been on the same side of that election fraud.

so thank you for noting the difference but not raking me over the coals for my messy mind.

15. SCOTUS deserves more than a gentle dis, but can anyone remember even this happening
before in a state of the union speech? I wished a camera was closer on them a while afterward. Bet their robes got a little hotter and faces went red!
