Superbowl Gay Theme Ad Rejected - Godaddy Out but Pro-Life Ad In

You decide - too inappropriate for the family viewing audience that assemble around the TV for the Superbowl?

Is it making fun of gay people or making light of post-closeted football stars or just a funny skit to sell websites? In addition to the above ad being rejected by CBS, another gay dating service ad is 'under review' - all the while, a controversial Pro-Life Christian ad has already been approved by CBS as Superbowl-ready.

*The other ad under review is for a male/male online dating site. According to Fox News: The 30-second spot shows two men excitedly watching the game, before their hands brush as they both reach into a bowl of chips. Suddenly, the two begin making out, much to the shock of a guy sitting close by.

Anyone want to render a guess whether that makes it by the CBS censors?

because otherwise I'd never have seen it as anything but an ad for a website. Actually I still don't.

3. I thought the commercial was silly

but not particularly offensive. I'm straight, but my gay and transgender friends might feel differently about this.

That said, I'd wish it would run, if only to piss off the self-righteous crotch police that permeate our society.

5. Pretty Plain to See that CBS is right wing

6. If it start the duo who played "Men On...." from "In Living Color" it would

probably have been received far more positively.

The few watchdog organizations that denounced the skits as homophobic were shouted down by the majority of gay people who thought the skits were hilarious, and they were.

There is NOTHING OFFENSIVE in this video. NOTHING.

Part of being equal is getting a sense of humor.

If you think it's a stupid commercial, and just not funny. Of course that's fine too.

To go from there and decide it's homophobic is more an example of internalized homophobia than anything else.

Queens exist. Every gay man has known a few, and probably had a queeny period in younger days.

If the portrayal is simply that the portrayal of a character as queeny, it should offend no forward thinking person. Such people do exist, and getting pissed when you see them on TV probably doesn't make them feel too good either.
