1. Cenk, he had to say something to placate the
ignorant and horrifically ill informed "swing voters".

2. Fool's errand it is then.
America can be so much more.

The President is the ultimate authority figure and when he speaks, too many disengage their brains. I always questioned authority figures, so maybe it is just people like me who are disenchanted.

3. K&R. Cenk's comments were dead on last night.
I love his "when's the Democratic response" question. I'm totally stealing that.

4. It did sound like a Republican speech for a bit.
When Cenk said it sounded like a Republican speech I felt vindicated. I thought the exact same thing but thought I might get in a little trouble for saying so. Pres. Obama needs to get tough with these Republicans. Playing paddy cake has not worked and it is not going to work. It is time to get the real work done. Republicans can come along or stay behind but this country can no longer be help back in an attempt to woo them. "They just aren't that into you."

13. Interesting post and comments.
I liked Mark Shields (PBS) comment on the post-SOTU address by some new Rep congressman, "the state of the confederacy".

7. Obama is ignoring the base because
The shadow government is Conservative. So Obama listens to those rich bastards. he has to, they hold the power of life and death over him.

Cenk is missing a few pieces of the puzzle here. What he needs to do is take some bullets by insisting that Congress open up a real investigation into 9/11 and various assassinations. This will shine light in areas the Illuminati is dreadfully afraid of. Bush family is still working their tricks here. Obama's push for "Bi-partisanship" is a perfect example of this.

Maybe even Cenk is intimidated. At least on matters of 9/11 he appears afraid. Time to do something positive. nothing good occurs when we ignore the rhinoceros in the living room.

9. Illuminati may be over the top but how about a quote from a justice of the Supreme Court
"The real rulers in Washington are invisible, and exercise power from behind the scenes." - Felix Frankfurter

11. This post could have been written by anyone from the right wing
Hyper_Eye should be paid by the RNC for remarks like his.

Obama is showing all the signs of his being intimidated by the multinational corporations. In fact they are kicking his butt all over town.

He runs for "change" and then brings all the Wall Street cons and leaves the Pentagon alone.

The person who wrote the hit piece (against me) that I'm responding to is exactly those lock step believers of the Warren Commission. had people shown more guts like Jim Garrison did we never would have seen Nixon, Reagan or the Bush family hold power.

12. It could also be written by anyone that is sane.
When you come in here talking about the Illuminati and 9/11 conspiracies you shouldn't expect to be taken seriously. There are forums dedicated to that crap. I know a lot of right-wingers (as living where I do it is impossible not to) that believe the same crap you are spouting. I believe a good chunk of Ron Paul supporters believe in the same conspiracies you are spouting. 9/11 was an attack perpetrated by Islamic terrorists. That attack led to retaliation in Afghanistan and got propped up for a bullshit war in Iraq. I do not hold right-wing values. I am a liberal progressive. Just because I am not willing to believe a bunch of bologna does not mean I am a closed-minded right-winger. I looked at a lot of the "evidence" and I did so with an open mind. The problem is that the evidence is crap and just as religion, faith, and the justification for the Iraq war requires shaping the evidence around the policy 9/11 truthers continuously shape things around the predetermined notion that 9/11 was an inside job. 9/11 truthers are nuts, Illuminati spouters are nuts, and you are nuts. Illuminati conspiracy theorists consist in large part of the same people who are hoarding weapons, forming "militias", and preparing for revolution. I'm not the one who is with the right-wing. But go ahead and just call anyone who calls out your crazy ideas RNC-supported right-wingers. That is sure to make this crap look more credible.

We have real problems to worry about in this country. There is no time for lame conspiracies.

20. I always laugh when Obama says: "those on the right..."
As if Obama isn't part of the 'right'! There's no left and right anymore in American politics; just center-right and ultra-right. And the politicians and the complicit media continue to pretend Democrats are leftists!

18. Kind of contrary to the orgasmic "*SQUEEEE! I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!!!!" gushing that
was all the rage on DU last night. Style over substance? Substance matters, results matter even more. screw the repugs; if they don't play take away their chairmanships- just for starters!

19. Cenk nailed it: Cutting social security instead of military budget!
Hey Obama, wanna seriously cut the deficit? Cut the military budget by about three quarter! (And you'll still spend more on it than any other country in the world.) Also: cutting taxes when you have a debt of a few trillion dollars? Not something to brag about, 'cause it isn't that smart. Cenk forgot to point out the hypocritical line (and I paraphrase now): "America must always stand on the side of peace and freedom". Yeah? Tell that to president Zelaya; how you stood with him... for about 3 whole days!
