Summary: Cenk interviewed Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) a day after the State Of The Union and they had some strong, interesting disagreements on it (and healthcare). On the topic of healthcare, Rep. DWS insisted that the Senate would have to act first. For a better explanation, watch the interview and or read http://tinyurl.com/ylcobsg|the transcript here>.

PS---Check out (and subscribe to) our new channel, . As the name suggests, it's all great interviews with the likes of Katrina Vanden Heuvel, Arianna Huffington, economist William K Black, Media Matters reps, various politicians, authors, journalists, reporters and much more.

15. IMO, Obama
is using "bi-partisanship" as an excuse not to get "we the peoples" work done. The people are on to this. They realize that if he was partisan, and the Democrats WANTED TO, they could pass anything. Just like the Rethugs did. But, that would not benefit the Corporate masters....

24. My guess is that a) you didn't watch the video
and b) you don't have the first clue about Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

And c) you're not the arbiter of who has a place here. Go start your own web site if you want to ban people.

32. Quote:
"The lack of clarity in the Subject line has lead to a flamefest."

It wasn't wrong, and the thread was locked because you couldn't help but turn it into a flamefest, something you purposely do to threads you don't like.

And, I reposted it proving you were wrong, quoting Sanders in the title.

And, as it turns out, Feingold also supported the spending freeze.

Guess you just can't handle being wrong, even when you know it. Keep on lying though. You're good at that.

2. Cenk: So Why does the W.H Do This ?
Rep. DWS ...
They, the W.H, Perceives that rather than going in with all partisan guns blazing that
Independent Swing Voters and Moderate Republicans who he had an opportunity to pick up and that we need in swing districts for the Mid-Terms", That we will meet those voters or at least to get their support.

And that will turn out to be a very deadly perception for Democrats very soon.

At the expense of it's base, Progressives, Liberals and those who REALLY wanted change.
What has and soon will be most evident is that the above will stay home from the polls by
the millions, While these so called Independent Swing Voters and Moderate Republicans
come out in probably record numbers to vote AGAINST this, Change, You Can NEVER believe in

Quisling compromises and deceitful promises to informed educated Progressive and Liberal
voters will NEVER prove a success. When 'O When will they learn ?

We Do Not Buy into Mindless Partisan Politics
We Are NOT mindless Freep Tards !

She had no idea of how you achieve cost containment without a public option. Premiums can still skyrocket even with new regulatory measures.

5. Get me a vomit bag
Good God was she spinning.

And this is someone on OUR side? Really?

They must think the American people are stupid as hell to buy that bullshit.

Thank God for people like Cenk and Maddow and others who hold their feet to the fire. It's like these Democrats are playing pretend or that they're acting these roles only the script has changed and they're improvising horribly.

Either you want the public option or you don't.

Most of them don't. End of story.

8. The ONLY reason we need those "moderate Republican voters" that Debbie refers to is
because of people like DWS and Rahm who have driven the progressive wing of the Democratic party to the sidelines.

This woman was instrumental in KEEPING PROGRESSIVE CANDIDATES OUT OF FLORIDA RACES because she supported Blue Dawgs who were really Republicans who called themselves Dems.

I hate that woman. And they seem to think that she and Harold Ford are the future of the party.

Not my fucking Democratic party.

Good job, Cenk. Rec.

9. No Public Option in reconciliation because it is not a funding mechanism?
Wow another excuse..... Procedurally it can be part of a bill, but just not in reconciliation? A mandate for the insurance co. and they make more money. The drug co. don't have to compete and therefore we get higher drug prices. How does the cost go down by broadening the pool?

let's not throw her under the bus here. That's just not cricket. I credit Cenk for giving her some feedback which might be helpful. It's hard enough for Dems in FL, isn't it?

14. DWS interview
Thanks Cenk, for not just accepting that drivel, and speaking truthfully about the reality of meaningful health care reform's chances.DWS normally makes sense when she speaks. This was the first time I have ever heard her stumbling through sentences, groping for just the right words to not admit the truth.Just more proof that "Big Pharma" and the insurance industry's choke-hold on our government is very strong indeed.

17. This is just more
proof that real progressives have a lot more work to do and we can't give up. This has to start in the democratic primary elections. It doesn't matter if Dems have a 90-10 majority if they aren't going to represent the people who sent them there. I am sick and tired of the f#$king excuses about not having the votes to do what the people want them to do. If we don't have the votes then we voted for the wrong people. If we voted for the wrong people it's time to vote for someone else. This has to start at the local level and work all the way up to the White House if necessary.
Get out during the primaries and if you have a democrat that isn't listening to the people support, campaign for and vote for a more progressive one the next time their up for nomination. This bull shit has to stop while there is still something that resembles a country left to save. If a Democrat is going to act like a f#$king republican then they are just as useless as a f#$cking republican. Send their ass home next time and maybe eventually one of these sons of bitches will get the point that we didn't vote for repukes in the last election and if they want to be one they can go the f#$k home too.
I understand that change is slow and takes time but I'm tired of people who are supposed to be looking out for and representing me giving up before the fight starts. Stand up for us or go home or better yet go to hell.

22. You won't get any argument from me, we have no choice but to keep
trying. This becomes increasingly more difficult when you consider the MSM, they only focus on the conflict between the parties
as opposed to the substance of the disagreements. Opinions from hacks on each side of the political divide is not reliable information and corporate interests continue to reign supreme.

I have not heard one word by anyone in the MSM challenging the content of the present bill vs one with a public option, never mind the fact
that they do not challenge Republicans who are satisfied with the status quo.

BTW, Welcome to DU!

period. "Thirty million people who don't have insurance will now have health insurance." Hell, I have health insurance, that's not the problem. Even with health insurance, I can't afford to go to the doctor! "Talk is cheap."? She should listen to herself.
