Gonzales as Attorney General has set the cause of Hispanic Americans back 20 years. I see a time when a Hispanic candidate or appointee will be asked "You're not going to pull a 'Gonzales' are you?"

His ethnicity has NOTHING to do with reality, but his public face will stand in the face of the "ready to judge" and the Hispanics will be poorer for it.

Just as Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice will stand as examples that, as minorities in Government, they too could stoop to the depths of Neoconservative depravity.

The worst part is that they were all 3 held up as role models, and the fact of the actual scarcity of minorities in this administration and in the high halls of US Government in general make them stand out. Not a pretty picture.

12. I just played this video for the Bush lovin' fundie

whose office is across from mine. He's been defending gonzo all along. His response:

"Well how do you expect an honest man to answer bullshit questions? He might as well be accused of being a witch in colonial Salem. There is no right way for him to answer these made up accusations. The whole investigation is bullshit. Democrats have no right to interfere with the President's people who are trying to do the very difficult job of protecting the American people".

All I could say to him was that for the first time, I truly felt sorry for him.

Utter and complete head in the sand denial. The 25% crowd are so blindly loyal to Bush and his team of criminals, I am convinced nothing (short of legalizing gay marriage) would ever change their minds.

It's so very sad...and extremely frightening.
