KOS obviously has some different standards than does DU but the comments Billo read were pretty bad and I do wonder if that does dems any good?

Edited to add: I am certainly not defending O'Reilly or Faux, there are a number of things that right wingers do not understand about what we consider approrpriate: race, sexual orientation, even religion, are usually considered off limits (although usually perfectly acceptable by conservatives), although I realize that conservatives will usually not use "vulgarity" in their criticism or their racist comments. Quite frequently however I do suspect that emotions and passions for individuals (or against them) are stronger in the progressive community and we are, normally, much less afraid of ideas in general that are not our own.

My guess is that D/U wouldn't have allowed the Hillary bashing to the extent that the Daily Kos would. However if Kos allows it i don't have a problem with it all that much.

Certainly you won't find much dissent against republicans within the right wing blogs. I know because I've joined them "incognito". A bunch of idiots actually and you're not missing much by not going there.

However on the rightie blogs you must not diss certain GOP candidates at all. It is forbidden to discuss a suggestion of pulling troops out of Iraq. Nor to criticize the president. All real criticism must be directed at Liberals or Democrats.

Thus we understand Bill O's problem with the Daily Kos: Kos allows dissent. No extremist conservative like O'Reilly can understand why a political group wouldn't walk in lockstep all the time.
