1. So explain this, since the PO still isn't part of the plan...
White House plan may blow up PhRMA deal

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=433x192687

This morning the White House released a new health care proposal that may be used as a blueprint for a compromise between House and Senate versions of reform. This new proposal will likely not find a receptive audience at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA)–the chief lobbying arm of the pharmaceutical industry.

14. This is where this whole thing gets confusing and aggravating

There seem to be a multitude of stories that come out each day involving what the WH is doing (or not doing)

I have no doubt that someone will post a story that is the exact opposite of what your link says

And, it's not because that story you linked to is incorrect, it's because they (reporters) all have sources and the reporters don't feel the need to do any fact checking.
Why? Because no one really holds them accountable.
They say, "Oops" and then move on.

Trying to get correct info on anything is almost impossible because CNN, MSNBC and Fox will put on any idiot to push their agenda: Death Panels, Socialism, Nuclear Option, Klansmen, etc

It's exhausting at times to try and know what is going on because the media is so damned immature in their approach to a story.

The only thing I know for 99% certainty... If Fox says it, then it's wrong.

18. You are right
I am sure there are all kinds of people in the WH disseminating different stories that seem to contradict each other, I dont doubt that the story that Sister posted is correct, it is just a case of what are you going to believe today.

This much we do know, at every turn since the summer, the WH has downplayed the significance of the PO, first saying early in Obama's presidency that the PO was instrumental in HCR, then later on saying it was a "component", then eventually saying recently that it wasn't that important and now having it not be in the Presidents proposal.

I think we must judge on the actions of the WH not on the stories that are coming out every day. I am convinced that the WH does not want the PO in the final bill and what Cenk reports confirms that.

2. as we've learned, Cenk, what he said on the campaign trail that he would never do, means,
as a politician, what he will do. :(

There are too many instances of this to be ignored. Those who do have their heads stuck in the sand while holding up their Collector's Plate with his face on it with a big gold "44" emblazoned across it.

We want the president we were promised. I will maintain hope throughout this process, that we get him.

Excellent commentary always on the vid!

12. This has been so tragic and disappointing.
We voted for change, and we got was the double-dealing, lie with a smile on your face crowd from Chicago.

I can't even watch Gibbs, Axelrod, Jarrett and the rest on TV anymore.

I am beginning to feel that there is no way to salvage this situation.

15. sigh... ya know, when I think of THOSE people you mention, I think frauds
so it's sad, as I stated above, that were not getting what we heard on the campaign trail - a tough progressive voice. He's not just 'working with' the other side, but he's been givin' concessions aplenty to the corporations, let alone the repubs. So, if those names you mentioned appear like charlatans, it's starting to get hard for me not to think, although I "like" him, but is it possible he is great at making it appear like he's someone different than he really is. And that's saddest for me as a progressive person that cannot imagine how someone that has his history could be anything other than liberal. Again, I still have hope, and always will that things will get better!

17. Obama himself retains some level of appeal for me. But his minions make me vomit.
The whole WH crowd: Gibbs, Axelrod, Jarrett, Rahm, have come across since the election as the worst sort of two-faced snake oil salesmen.

these stories to pull straight from your a** with not even one series proof, are beyond ridiculous.

21. It was reported in the NY Times several months ago.
Oh that's right, it doesn't count because it's part of the "liberal media".

PS---Don't confuse the speculative blog on Rahm (he said within 2 months, he might be wrong, but we've got another 5 weeks to go before you highstep in favor of a corporate shill) with a NY Times report.

Professional Life Under Scrutiny

After her husband won a U.S. Senate seat in 2004, Michelle Obama's professional life began to come under scrutiny. An online video said she received a pay increase of $195,000 just months after her husband was sworn in.

Obama was promoted to a vice president at the University of Chicago Hospitals; her salary nearly tripled, from $122,000 to $316,000 a year.

"A lot of people help mentor young people; a lot of people help teach," says former political consultant Joe Novak, who runs a Web site that criticizes the health care industry and another that is critical of the Obamas. "But when she got to the power of influence about being married to a U.S. senator, about being the wife of a rock star, what did she do to affect positive change? What she did is help a hospital, a not-for-profit hospital, carry out a strategy of maximizing profits."

Former hospital chief Riordan calls the criticism of Michelle Obama silly, and he says Barack Obama was not a factor in her promotion or her raise.
