Medicare and Medicaid Payments to Doctors Cut by 21 Percent


Starting Monday, doctors receiving Medicare and Medicaid patients will receive a 21 percent pay reduction.

The Senate on Friday failed to repeal a bill that would cut pay for doctors receiving Medicare patients by 21 percent. The payment cut applies to members of the military on the government's TRICARE program as well.

"This drastic cut will hurt our senior, disabled, and military patients, as well as baby boomers who start entering the Medicare program next year," said American Medical Association (AMA) President J. James Rohack in a statement.

Cut Medicare payments to doctors = doctors stop seeing Medicare patients = seniors die = money saved. Mr. Bunning and the insurance industry "death panels" combined may kill 100,000 a year instead of 44,000 a year. The more people die from lack of care the healthier the remaining population will be and insurance companies can make bigger profits. Is that the way it goes?

All we hear is what a nut Bunning is....as if this is some fluke. Nope. It's the GOP modus operandi in action. It's not unusual. Kyle shows this clearly. There should be all this talk about how Republicans are out of touch. This was a gift and were not taking advantage of it.

I was listening to the Bill Press show on the way to work and they were talking about firing teachers? Are you serious? This should be the talking point for days.

The Democratic party is so unorganized. They can never get a message out. Even if the message is true. Republicans can tell lies over and over and the public believes it. Because they stay on message. They get talking points and they all stick together from Fox news to Rush to every Senator and Congressmen. It just makes me sick how they control the media.

How we have the White House and majorities in the houses yet they control the media so they still run the show.

It gets so old.
