1. If he votes against it, he is objectively no different than Michelle Bachmann and Marsha Blackburn
It's the roll call vote Yes or No that is all that matters in the end. No one cares about your explanations.

6. I find it appalling you'd say he is wrong -- Think about it!
This is a tough thing....the bill as what most expect will be quite frankly an extraordinary giveaway to the insurance industry. I right now am on the fence on whether to kill or pass it. I'd say i'd bite my tounge and pass it but i can see where others who have REAL reasons would vote against it. I respect the man for taking a stand genuinely for the people not insurance companies. Everything he said is RIGHT! If you cant see that you are the reason why democrats each year keep forgetting about their core beliefs and head more right! If all the democrats were like K. we'd have a stronger stand and the president wouldn't be so eager to chase after anything the right (and that includes corporate democrats) wanted.

8. Michelle Bachman, Steve King, Jean Schmidt, Marsha Blackburn
That's who he's voting with.

And Paul Ryan.

13. By the same token...
Objectively, you are disparaging a Democrat, so you are just like Steve King, Marsha Blackburn, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh.

That is all that matters, right? I don't think so. So, I will not attack you along the same lines.

Do you have a deeper, unposted reason for your comment? If you have such a reason for not liking his position, state it please and dial back the ad hominem attacks.

15. The DLC is probably getting antsy and want to pass the bill, any bill will do.
So they can claim "victory" and move on, Mr. Emmanuel has far more important issues to worry his pretty little mind with... like for example all that social security to privatize in all that little time left in this term.

The real nasty anti-Kucinich talking points will start to take off from the DLC fax machines the minute Mr. K does not vote like he is told to.

14. Dude, that train of thought you are running there is very dishonest...
Edited on Fri Mar-05-10 03:19 AM by liberation
... no offense but the reasons why Kucinich and the GOP are voting no on this bill are very justified. Regardless of what moonbat Bachmann has to say.

I am as liberal as they come, and I would not vote for this piece of shit bill with a 20 ft pole. And yet the reasons for my disapproval are completely different from the reasons the wingnuts are giving to justify their opposition to this bill. Does that make me an apprentice of nazi like Bachman? Because that is what your intellectually disingenuous bullshit is trying to imply.

12. The bill sucks.
this is one step forward two steps back in the long run.

And from Obama's talk recently, it doesn't sound like there is going to be any real push whatsoever toward the kind of real reform that is needed.

This is going to have to start from the ground up, a fight from the PEOPLE to attain the only kind of sustainable, efficient, humane system: UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER.

We should NEVER settle for less. They say it's unrealistic. WHY?! That's bullshit.

Fuck insurance companies. They should not be allowed to exist. They have a special place in hell alongside other parasites like derivatives traders and sub-prime lenders. These things we can do for each other without the poison of a profit motive.

16. A year ago, I could not have even imagined that we would be "hoping" for Obama to "change" his mind
Edited on Fri Mar-05-10 03:43 AM by liberation
.... as the best case scenario for anything. When we have to "hope" a president can be persuaded as to why health care should be considered a basic human right for the citizens of his country... I fail to see why on earth this administration is still given the benefit of the doubt in regards to their supposed status as "populist agent of change." I honestly can not recall a single individual who has obtained such pervasive levels of benefit of the doubt as Mr. Obama has with such a anemic track record and his penchant for being on the wrong side of the issue on almost every major policy item that has passed through his desk.

So either Mr. Obama is completely tone deaf, or he is shilling for the interest and needs of the very few... either way is not good. Since it is a lose-lose situation for the interests and needs of the many. In any case, he can go and play coy all he wants... but by the end of this year, the Dems will give up both houses. So it is not like it will matter anyways... it has been a most excellent and entertaining political theatre though.

10. Fox news is trying to pit Liberals against Democrats
Just because their party is falling apart, it's their only alternative left. I saw they had Weiner on the other day trying to coax him into not voting for the bill by pretending to care about his concerns with their "But this bill doesn't have a public option, if you can't have your way then you should vote NO". They are part of the organization that helped spread the anti-PO propaganda, now they pretend to be so concerned about it? Riiiiight.
