1. I guess the codpiece no longer gives Tweety that 'tingle'...
I'm sick of his crap. He played both sides against the middle during the run-up to the War, and positioned himself exactly right so that he could make these sanctimonious statements years later, if things didn't work out. Had there been WMD or whatever, he'd have been able to say that he'd been singing the praises 'all along' of Jr. Bush.

I'd like a nickel for every time Tweety used the term "Homeland"...all of a sudden, it's "totalitarian".

As the Referee said: "After further review, Tweety is a moron."

2. Tweety, you are a wonder!
He goes along pissing me off day after day then comes up with a gem like this. And I believe he is right on Bush and the war.

Bush was simply too uninformed about the Middle East and history in general to question the advice of the neo-cons around him. If fact, Bush was just too stupid to be president.

3. Bush didn't do it alone. He had LOTS of help, much of it from our MSM, people
like Matthews. There were plenty of people questioning George's folly, but they were either derided, ignored, or accused of being traitors.

13. Right on!
The only ones that I know of that challenged the Cheney administration was the McClatcy Newspaper reporters. They others were publishing White House memos. I remember the night of Shock and Awe and all I could think of was the Nazi blitzkrieg of Poland. The news channels were treating it like it was a Fourth of July fireworks display. Tweety was right along with them glorifying Bush's Mission Accomplished bull shit.

4. no doubt chimpy ain't the brightest bulb on the tree but the cover story that he was misled is just
that, a cover story. he knew the real deal, and he was an enthusiastic supporter of doing the dirty deed.

these M$M pro's are always doing their job, misleading, even when it looks like they are standing up to the elite.

18. That was briliant!
Colbert clearly illustrated the point that night that the M$M are nothing more than lackys for the elite, and a discrace to thief profession as the commedian's truthiness was not very well recieved by that gaggle of sophist who should hang their collective heads in shame and beg for forgivness by doing their jobs henceforth... Ah, but the almighty dollar isavery effective exlixar against any twinge of shame apparently.

9. I hope that everyone realizes
that even when someone like Mathews talks it's not so much about news, but how he plays it so he can later cover his own ass if things he said were way off base. They're not in it for reporting real news so much as making sure they keep their jobs. There are very few real reporters anymore.

10. Chris I will always remember your coverage of bush landing on the carrier
5/1/03

MATTHEWS: What's the importance of the president's amazing display of leadership tonight?

<...>

MATTHEWS: What do you make of the actual visual that people will see on TV and probably, as you know, as well as I, will remember a lot longer than words spoken tonight? And that's the president looking very much like a jet, you know, a high-flying jet star. A guy who is a jet pilot. Has been in the past when he was younger, obviously. What does that image mean to the American people, a guy who can actually get into a supersonic plane and actually fly in an unpressurized cabin like an actual jet pilot?

<...>

MATTHEWS: Do you think this role, and I want to talk politically <...>, the president deserves everything he's doing tonight in terms of his leadership. He won the war. He was an effective commander. Everybody recognizes that, I believe, except a few critics. Do you think he is defining the office of the presidency, at least for this time, as basically that of commander in chief? That <...> if you're going to run against him, you'd better be ready to take away from him.

<...>

MATTHEWS: Let me ask you, Bob Dornan, you were a congressman all those years. Here's a president who's really nonverbal. He's like Eisenhower. He looks great in a military uniform. He looks great in that cowboy costume he wears when he goes West. I remember him standing at that fence with Colin Powell. Was the best picture in the 2000 campaign?

15. Tweety is a tool
He loved Bush, then bashes Bush. He though Obama was great (good), but now slams Democrats at times. Is the man Jekyll/Hyde?

16. Here is the email that I sent Chris today...
What is it with the 'Nobody but Bush would have taken us to war with Iraq' business? Bush could not have taken us to war without your help and the help of other main stream media. We were out here begging to avoid a war while you beat the war drum every day in view of the entire world.

Do not kid yourself. There is nothing you can do to distance yourself from the Iraq war, the dead soldiers, the dead citizens of Iraq and the huge debt that future generations will have to repay.

Try as you might we will always know that you were in on it. It was painful to watch then and it is painful to watch you attempt to rewrite history.

War is over if we want it...all we need is the talking heads to want it!

Peace,

Here is the link with email and phone number...have at it!

14. Greenspan was right
when he admitted in his book that this war was about oil. The people in BU$HCO made that war happen. They knew there were no weapons.

The media let us down and now I will never look at the news as being news but only as being someone's propaganda...except for Rachel!
