I found this fascinating. This man, who I assume to be Republican by what he chooses to talk about, is embarrassed by *.

The sheeples are waking up. OMFG. Where will they be by election time? Pitchforks ready?

Asshole got what he deserved, shame on him for inflicting it on the rest of us.

2. Ha!
I never heard that name for the 't' before.

Isn't it interesting that someone of this political persuasion would
1.) dress like this for an international viewing,
2.) talk about his failed president who he obviously voted for 2x.
3.) know how to do this in the first place? Who helped him? Is this 'real'?

7. He reminds me of a lot of old guys I met in Florida, friends
of my parents. Some of them saw Stupid coming and I know more than a few who voted for Nader, instead (yes, REPUBLICS voted for Nader, too). Most of them sighed and hoped Stupid would give them a tax cut instead of Gore giving them the business as usual that had raised taxes on a lot of retirees who really couldn't afford the additional burden. They were all hoping for the best although they knew it wasn't likely to happen.

I don't think any of them wanted to vote for what Stupid has given us all.

The true believers can still be found in the hate-based bible churches across the country. Guys like this one were never true believers but they still feel as though they have been betrayed, and they have been.

Alienating these people by condemning them for being fooled by a slick advertising campaign is self defeating. We need to welcome them into reality based politics. We need to be grateful they're awake now.

(The cig and wifebeater shirt are affectations, by the way)

5. Right - he needs more info
or he would be more angry. How mad will he be in a year's time?

Interesting that he made this in the first place though.

Hell no.

These frigging people are STILL in denial. STILL.

10. My red state redneck relatives are liberal Democrats
"Redneck" is a racial slur against Anglo/Scots-Irish southerners.

11. I'm an Anglo/Scot-Irish southerner...
I reckon I'm making a racial slur against myself.

12. Fine, but you're still calling yourself a right-winger
Why would you make that gross a generalization about your own people?

15. But it's not everyone, so generalizing is still unwise, imho
Believe me, half my dad's family is still in east Texas, but it's still only part of the family.

16. Redneck doesn't refer to the Scotch-Irish
Those people are properly referred to as "hillbillies" or "crackers". Or as we used to say in Mississippi, "peckerwoods". Redneck simply refers to a right-wing idiot, who is (usually) white. One might reasonably call NBA player Karl Malone a redneck; he does call himself that. What he means, I gather, is that he thinks he's a right-wing idiot.

17. No, the application has been to call racist/right wing people "redneck", but that's not its origin
Edited on Sat Jul-28-07 09:49 PM by melody
"Cracker" is also used as a racial slur in the way you're using "redneck". "Redneck"
is a term for the Scots-Irish/Anglo people of the US south (chiefly the Appalachians).

redneck
noun
a poor White person in the southern United States (in this case, those "white people"
are English and Scots-Irish)

20. Hillbilly is also a classist, racist slur
It was introduced into the American vocabulary by such stalwarts of propoganda as H.L. Mencken. Northeastern journalists were dispatched to the Appalachian mountains just in time to demonize the population in order to make the moral climate easier for those who were in the midst of plans of offering subsistence farmers a hundred dollars for their land.

That being said, I am a proud Appalachian living in the Urban Appalachian Babylon of the United States - Dayton, Ohio. Grew up in Eastern Kentucky.

14. Christ, if you're going to broadcast a video to the whole world, PUT A SHIRT ON,
would you?

OK, I'm old and way too formal, I know it...I was one of only two guys (out of about 100) who wore a tie at my cousin's recent wedding up at the farm, but dude, lose the wifebeater if you want anyone to take you seriously. Please.

I'm not at all surprised that this guy
bought all the "BuShit" they were selling
in 2000/2004.
I almost feel sorry for him,
but I don't.
