3. Total supposition.
There has been no announcement, only rightwing blather.

13. I when they make the official announcement I suppose you'll say
"We knew this was coming. It's old news" :eyes:

4. For an allegedly smart person, Obama follows a lot of bad advice. No one said he was progressive.
But at least a liberal. That's gone by and large. And he's no fighter, either.

6. He fights pretty hard for what HE wants.
One example being the Health Care bill, the Romneycare bill that came out of the Senate with NOTHING for the people who elected him in it.

He was MIA last summer when the PO was still a major issue. The only time I heard him back then was to let everyone know how 'unimportant' a PO was.

Now, he's finally talking to progressives in Congress, the people he ignored up to now. He has stated that the Senate Bill gives him 95% of what he wanted. That was revealing. And he's fighting for it.

I used to think he just wasn't a fighter, that was when I still believed he was on our side. Now, I don't think so. I think he fights for what is important to him.

We'll see how hard he fights to restore the rule of law and let Republicans know that no matter how loud they scream he will not violate the Constitution as his predecessor did. I have a feeling the fight won't be too intense.

9. Yes. He's already violated the Constitution by extending illegal wiretaps and phone co. immunity.
Also, not aggressively prosecuting BushCo's war crimes, not bringing back habeas corpus and a slew of immoral stuff involving banks and marijuana laws for starters. So sad to betray us.

12. If the next President is Republican, will be a damn shame if they go after
Obama for war crimes and let the chimp and shooter slide.

We could scream Bush did it too, wouldn't make a damn bit of difference. I suppose Obama may be able to protect himself from his unfortunate choices but won't put it past the Republicans to rip him apart.

5. This hasn't happened....yet
But I'm with Cenk on this one. This is a basic constitutional issue. It's a betrayal of the American justice system. It's a concession to fear mongering. It furthers the encroaching militarization of our society. It sucks on so many different levels. Principles? What a joke. If this is the dancer's doing, the S.O.B. needs to be sent back to Chicago. He's killing the Obama presidency. But in the end, it's Obama who makes the call. This is very discouraging.

7. Hillary Clinton wouldn't be caving to Republicans. Any chance they can swap spots? She can be
President, and he can be Secretary of State? :(

10. Did he cave or Did New York officials asked him to move the
trials? A big difference. Better yet has a decision been made?

P.S. Originally this site was full of facts, now it seems to be cousin to the GOP who make up their own facts.

11. Jaxx questions this, as do I. It is a leap to say this is entirely untrue.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/04/AR2010030405209.html?hpid=topnews

I would also add that Cenk could support his choice of words by claiming advocacy, pressure of what looks like the impending decision if it already hasn't leaked or been reported. See, the Obama admin has essentially warned what they are going to do. Is there still time for any of us to get them to rethink it, idk.

If you don't appreciate DU, either work to change it or you know...

Why not do a little digging and show some initiative. You can google as well as I can and post what you find. A lot of folks have been run off, just the way of things. Contribute.

I'm voicing an opinion just as you have. You don't like it so are you suggesting I leave? Grow up.

15. Actually wasn't doing that at all.
What are the choices for any of us?

Basically I was just making what I thought was an argument for you to contribute, that's all. My intent was positive even if it was poorly expressed.

I honestly didn't like or dislike your opinion, really.

One of my personal challenges has been to transition from being more passive in some ways to being more active. My opinion is of no less or no more importance than your own. Basically I was just asking you to contribute.

I must have expressed my intentions poorly.
