5. I know!
When I first noticed him as a low-post-count DUer, I got actually suspicious that he was doing a spoof on my name. LOL, how silly of me! But then I read some of his posts and I knew that wasn't the case.

2. I don't know this works out as negative as we think having listened to the summit, hopefully I'm not

being too optimistic, but the large numbers involved are estimated to reduce the costs due to regulations in the system. Yeah, there's little reason to trust anyone corporations or Democrats but in the long haul of history the Democratic party have come through for the people. We can go with the doubters as there must of been for even medicare or we can go with how well these things worked out in the big picture. The Democratic party has been in our corner all down the line, even facing down the power of lobbyists all through that time. So, do we sink or swim? It's just a system that only allows for small changes bit by bit. It appears to me we have to take it or it will never change at all. There are so many variables that will change as our message resonates fair wages, progressive taxes that step by step it will all fall into place. The supreme court ruling is only a sign of coporate desperation we're winning and winning big time.

Ted Kennedy "It has been the greatest lesson I have learned; if you persevere, stick with it, work at it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass you'll get there."

3. Can somebody please explain this mandate to me?
The mandate has to be the biggest part of this new reform that rubs people the wrong way, and rightfully so. Obama campaigned against it and in short, it is simply a horrible idea. So where did this come from? Why is nobody speaking out about taking it out of reform? What is the reasoning for having it in the plan at all? Is there some upside to this that I am not seeing, other than the obvious benefit to the insurance companies?

6. to insure that many people and control cost you need a mandate, but without a public option
to keep the insurance companys honest,it's a hard sale. So called healthcare experts came up with the idea a few yrs ago, basically insinuating that Americans are so irresponsible when it comes to preventive care etc. The mandate has merit but its the cost control of the insurance premiums that are a problem for many who see this as a big corporate give away that will be paid by the taxpayers.
