In the last several posts I wrote featuring video clips from the "Convergence 2010: A Cry to Awaken A Nation" conference, I tried to note the rather new development of Religious Right activists like Harry Jackson http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/harry-jackson-modern-day-martin-luther-king , Jim Garlow http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/garlow-reveals-exact-moment-god-decided-pass-prop-8 , and Janet Porter http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/janet-porter-prays-control-over-media joining forces with self-proclaimed "prophetic intercessors" like Lou Engle http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/engle-ization-religious-right or, in this case, Cindy Jacobs of Generals International, which hosted this particular conference.

But frankly, aside from the fervent praying and occasional speaking in tongues, nothing any of these Religious Right leaders said at this conference was all that different from the sorts of things you hear at any Religious Right conference.

snip

As such, I have put together this video of Jacobs closing out the "Convergence 2010" conference where she recounts the time she had an amazing visitation with God during which he showed her Seraphim and set her bedroom on fire, before she set about about casting out demons, lifting curses, and conducting faith healings of everything from AIDS to Hepatitis C to Glaucoma and even Cancer:

It should also be noted this sort of overlap is becoming more and more common, as both Jacobs and Engle have been invited to the upcoming Freedom Federation summit next month at Liberty University along with elected officials like Virgina Governor Bob McDonnell, VA Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and Govs. Tim Pawlenty and Rick Perry.

7. ... the 16th century is but a quick stop on the way to their true destination
and I am sure the century they want to bring us back to is either on the single digits, or has a BC after it.

These conservative and libertarian assholes have still not forgiven progressives for forcing them to get off the treess and start walking upright on their way to hunt and gather.

2. I don’t believe in the preternatural or that any divine entity can violate the laws of nature or
that any human being can violate those laws.

I believe in the immutable laws of nature and in the promise that humans can discover those laws, can then predict events with them, and eventually use those laws to produce events.

8. Religious nuts do not have facts to validate their claims, thus they think the louder the speak
the more validated their nonsense is.

11. To all so-called moderate Christians...
Seriously, why label yourself a "Christian"? All it does is justify the loonies!

Please don't say these people are not true Christians...There is no "true Christian". We all know what is in the Bible and you either accept it for what it is or you do not. You either think homosexuals are abominations or you do not...You either think women are property of men or you do not...You either approve of slavery or you do not...You either worship a cold blooded mass murdering god or you do not.

One has to know they are living a lie by picking & choosing what the Bible says when they know what it REALLY says!

No, I am not an "angry atheist"...I am utterly confused as to why so many people actually believe in Bronze Age Myth in the 21st Century!
