1. I don't know if it should be eliminated, but more regulations should be implemented

what we live under currently is a corporatist system, which I'm sure most everyone, right or left, is opposed to.

2. Revolution will come when the masses wake up
to the fact that they are nothing but production and consumption units in a system designed to let the Few live parasitically off of the Many.

First, we can refuse to do any nonessential consumption--buy nothing but the basics. An economy based 70% on consumption will collapse. Boycotts of entertainment and nonessential services; boycotts of durable goods; boycotts of airlines and tourism...

Second, we refuse to produce, or we simply use the Wobbly tactic of reducing the efficiency of production.

There's a limited window of opportunity in a globalizing system. As the rest of the world develops, the relative status of the US as a consuming nation will diminish. At this point in time, the elite can't simply disregard a decision by US citizens to stop consuming. Today, we can bring the system to its knees. In ten years, we'll be meaningless peasants.

4. Say Hi to Comrade Bob for me
I suppose Ray Lotta is an economist, but by his criteria I'm an economist too. I agree with many of the goals he expresses but his "let's all get ready for the revolution" is the same ultra-left crap that has floated around since the 60's. The organization that he works with, the Revolutionary Communist Party, is so shrill it hurts my ears.

6. it's too late anyway...
us revolutionaries shoulda went to mattresses in 1980 when goofball reagan was foisted on US with only 37percent of vote by pigmedia liars...that was only 6 years after repuke crook nixon was kicked to curb by USA (and pardoned by repuke ford to avoid hard time in san quenton pen!) despite best efforts by pigmedia to save nixon (ie see pat buckonnon)

5. One way or another ...
we have been, and will continue to, go through some massive changes and upheavals. It appears that that one aspect is easy to agree on for many and that the mounting problems we face, individually and collectively, are going to sound a trump that grows louder and clearer.

This video offers another perspective which, at the very least, suggests alternatives albeit that the one offered as an imposed, enforced system has not proven itself in practice. This is a good time to look over and consider various alternatives keeping in mind that circumstances can create instability so overwhelming that alternatives may be able to emerge and being informed, having insights and having the capacity to choose might come in handy.

I would hope that we see something emerge, (I use that term for a specific reason) that might be a synthesis of valid solutions relevant to our current social and political dynamic. Obviously, the words being used eclipse the intentions and meanings behind them here. Socialism and Communism, while familiar terms, are now loaded with negative connotations and tend to serve the increasingly divisive aspects of those struggling to envision and enact a more practical and equitable structure for this species.

It might be better to steer away from the "isms" and focus on the intents specifically. World and societal systems are complex and dynamic and appear, to me, to be emergent, (consider ant colony activity, etc.) yet, we can consider our personal aspects in that process as influential to some degree, i.e., how we act, react, and interact.

7. are we even talking about the struggle between communism and
capitalism any more? im no economist, but we live in a hyper-capitalist
corpocratic, plutocratic mutation.

don't feel like little 'ol capitalism no more. seems we've moved into new territory thats
much more frightening. don't think communism gonna pull us outta this one.

i have a feeling something ugly awaits when the
guns finally do get unpacked for this one. :-(
