1. Of course, I'm bawling!
Puppy mills should indeed be banned.

Shelter pets make wonderful companions.

5. I adopted adult cats on death row at Kitty Auschwitz
and those cats were grateful. If I get another cat, it will be an older rescue cat.

It doesn't have to be a puppy or a kitten. It can be an adult animal who knows a few words, is housebroken, and has some basic manners.

You will never be sorry.

10. I have one from there
I've had her for almost 4 years now. She is the most grateful, dedicated cat I have ever owned.

She was very sick when I got her. The shelter told me to bring her back (and they'd likely have done away with her). I told them NO and I took her to a vet. It required a few visits before they were able to identify what was wrong with her.

She is so very sweet. My life would be incomplete without her.

6. I have a puppy mill schanuzer we rescued. Sweet dog but
we should have named her Clockwise as she is in constant motion and the more excited or stressed she is the circles get smaller and smaller until she is spinning like a top--but only in the clockwise direction. When chasing squirrels in the back yard if the squirrel turns left Niki has to make a 270 degree turn to the right!

The spinning is a symptom of very tight confinement for most of her early life.

12. When I was just married my wife and I got a Maltese...
He came out of a puppy mill in Missouri. We had him for over 15 years. Our second dog was a Blue Tick Coon Hound that we rescued. She was about 5 years old when we got her. She came from a non-kill shelter in Bryson City, NC. After we got her we found out she had an immune defect and had chronic skin infections. She cost us a bloody fortune but was well worth the money spent. She had to be euthanized at the age of 11.5 years of age when there were no more antibotics that worked and she was suffering. Despite her medical problems and the abuse she went through prior to coming to our home she was absolutely one of the nicest dogs one could ever find, gentle to a fault. Our twin boys were about 2 years of age and she was extremely protective with them. Our current dogs are two Whippets. Our first Whippet came from a breeder but the second Whippet we got from Whippet Rescue. After watching this video I will give him a big hug.
