What a guy! So many people worry about gays being a bad influence. If half the gays who are in the military (or want to be) have Lt. Dan Choi's character, military leaders should be lining up to speak against DADT. I would be proud to have someone like Lt. Choi for a son.

I think it's insane gays in the military is being considered enough of a hot button that any action seems to be postponed by Congress until after the midterm election.

A gay soldier in Baghdad recently contacted me, and in his note he stated that all he wants is to do "is go bowling with the man he loves". And I have to ask how anyone in their right mind could deny him that.

The thought that there are so many benighted, bigoted folks out there, making these actions necessary, is hard to comprehend. So much hatred and stupidity from a particular segment of the population, and such spinelessness from politicians who are supposedly on "our" side.
