It was a mixed interview this a.m. on Morning Joe as Lawrence O'Donnell reflected on all the woulda's and shouda's that the GOP failed to take heed of in fighting the Healthcare Bill. Joe Scarborough offers the quote in the title about 'how the Bill would have been DOA if O'Donnell had been hired by the GOP 6 months ago' because Lawrence lays out all the increased tax costs to states and issue of inflation raising the incomes of Americans that will eventually cause them to be hit by the very taxes in this legislation intended for upper income brackets.

His point - "How incredibly ineffectual the Republicans have been in opposing this Bill. That you can have sophisticated news consumers who do not know what the taxes are in this Bill... this astounds me. This would never have happened in the age of Bob Packwood at the Finance Committee"

I was watching this segment the other morning as I fell asleep, thanks for posting the video.

What is amazing is that apparently the republicans did NOT at the onset read the whole bill looking for talking points - which shows that there is NOT anyone with brains in charge.
The republicans ran with the Palin 'death panel' LIE, their bogus 'takeover' BS, etc.

As far as 'Morning Joe' ---- I can not stand Joe Scarborough!
I truly cannot understand why MSNBC has Joe on in the morning, he is rude, he spouts misinformation constantly, he loves to berate President Obama, etc.

I wish we could clone Lawrence O'Donnell and have him on in the morning and the evening.

p.s. As far as the $200,000 income level not being indexed - now that it has been pointed out I bet there will be an amendment to fix that in the future ;)

4. Weird. I guess we now know why HCR failed under the Clintons
O'Donnell usually seems fairly liberal/progressive and now he is talking about being in the top tax bracket and why don't the GOP grandstand on taxes? Bizarre.

6. I've read on DU that Lawrence O'Donnell
was certainly one of the Top Downers on the Bill. Why did the gops need to hire him..he already acted like he was.
